I'm talking too much techie sometimes, so if I do, excuse me and just ask what I'm talking about. I already explained some things in another topic...
I'd like to get more into depth in here though:
| GM "Game Master" or "Game Moderator". This is the person who is in charge of running the game, including having final say over how actions are resolved. Also referred to as "storyteller" (in White Wolf games) and "dungeon master" (in D&D). (only in moderated games, in FreeForm Playing Games (FFPG) usually not necessary unless wanted) |
"Non-Player Character". This is a character in the game controlled by the GM or used by the other players as needed.
"Player Character". This is a character in the game controlled by one of the players (as opposed to the GM).
"Out of Character" Comments made to the other players out of the game.
Taking over another player in a post. This includes simple actions! (speaking, walking etc). Is the player not responding after a given time her/his can be taken over by the GM or used as NPC.
A Character with a Special Ability is able to do things imposible for a normal person. They may be able to use Magic or Mental Powers, see in the dark or have resistance to damage. Special Abilities can be fun but their use in a Live Action Role Playing game sometimes requires Referee intervention.
VE do not use Special Abilities in their games.
Okay, any other questions, just ask. Because HC and TG involve alot of Godmoding those will continue doing so. But I would like to open another rpg threat to start using the basic rpg rules.
