Just got through watching Made of Honor...has anyone else seen it? The castle they go to in Scotland looks an awful lot like Eilean Donan castle..does anyone else agree or not..I got my photos out and still think so...

Eilean Donan is very commonly used in movies and TV shows. I know it was used in several Highlander movies. I think it was also the headquarters for MI6 in the 007 movie The World Is Not Enough.

I watched/rented Iron Man this wek. I had already seen it at the theater but it was so well done I'll probably end up owning it. It be a hard choice between this and Dark Knight for best superhero movie of the summer. Iron Man had a much better comic edge and stays alot closer to the comic book look than Dark Knight.

Also I don't know if WalMart had decided to try and put the video rental places out of businesss like they did with Toys R Us but our brand new store has a DVD vending machine by the front doors. New releases (and some older ones) for only a buck. Now I can just rent for a dollar at Wally World and buy a slightly used copy at the video store for $10 when they get rid of all the overstock. Of course with blue ray up and coming I wonder why I bother with a movie library at all if the formats are going to change every few years.

Gotta fill the gas tank somehow.

Appaloosa, with Ed Harris, Viggo Mortensen & Renee Zellwegger. A good, old fashioned western. It wasn't real action packed, not even a lot of gunplay. But it was like they used to make them. The dialogue was great. We all really enjoyed it!

valpal,
They do drop the f-bomb twice I think and there is a scene where you see Renee Zelwegger and a male actor's bare butts, from a distance. But still a really enjoyable movie.

Watched "Elizabeth, the Golden Years." I didn't find it as good as the first movie, but I still really liked it.

"The Other Boelyn Girl" was great to watch again.

gcw57, I went to see "Burn After Reading" and was greatly disappointed. The best scenes are shown in the trailer...that's it.

DesertRose, have you ever read the book I found it some much better then the movie.I felt that they lefted out so much of a good story just to get the all might buck. I am surprised that Philippa Gregory let them do it that way.

Sorry you experienced the crap that is "Burn After Reading", DesertRose.

In all honesty, was that not one of the worst movies that you've paid money to see? I can see why the ads for it disappeared about the time the movie came out. Word of mouth likely killed this movie within a week. I felt totally ripped off!

I went to see the Canadian made movie "Passchendaele" produced by and starring Paul Gross and it is very good. By Hollywood standards it would be considered low budget at $20,000,000,000.00 but up here that's big budget.
The movie is based loosely on the life of Michael Dunne, Paul Gross's grandfather and his service in WW1. The scenes of the battle field were extremely well done. This movie tell how important a part Canada played in WW1 and how good we were.
