Thanks for the background, Muircheartach. I didn't realize it was adapted from an older book. I just went into expecting it to be a children's fantasy story that my kids wanted to watch. The situation with Ms. Robb's character (don't want to ruin it for anyone that hasn't seen it) totally caught me off guard. I guess I just wasn't expecting such a tough storyline/issue from what I thought was going to be a "fun" film. And I agree, the two young actors stole the show and were well cast for those parts. She is going to be one to watch out for. She just filmed a very weighty, adult themed film with Charlize Theron entitled 'Sleepwalking'. They interviewed her and she seems to be just as smart and articulate in real life as the character she played in 'Terabithia'.

Thanks for the hyperlink, Ranger! Indeed, AnnaSophia seems to be growing up fast, but it sounds like she has a good head on her shoulders. I'm not familiar with "Sleepwalking", so I'll have to check-out the subject matter, but it sounds a lot more mature than Charlie And The Chocolate Factory! wink.gif

Aye, I agree.

I didn't realize she had already been in so many movies/tv shows. Very talented and (so far) very smart and down-to-earth little girl.

We're going to a sneak premiere of Prince Caspian tonight so I'll let y'all know tomorrow how we liked it. My honey and I each won two tickets but my son didn't (we all entered the same contest). So, that left us with four tickets and 5 people. And, since you have to go with a picture ID, I can't just give my tickets to the kids and stay home. I mean, I'd rather they go with my SO and I'd just go later. But, it looks like we'll take the two younger ones and the 16-yr-old will go one day next week. We watched The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe last night so we're ready for tonight's film.

Prince Caspian was absolutely wonderful! And my new hero is Reepicheep (played by Eddie Izzard).

I really want to see it again but we're going to have to buy some Indiana Jones things and are going to the midnight movie Wednesday night so we might not be able to afford another Caspian too soon.

Hi all,

Since Friday my wife and I saw the following:

Baby Mama - funny, witty and not as bad and I thought it would be - it's a chick flick, but at least it's funny.

Chronicles of Narnia - Prince Caspian - seriously good - the best one yet of the movies done on C.S. Lewis' trilogy and the best use of CG and actors I've seen in a long time. Worth paying full price to see!

Forbidden Kingdom - when I saw that Jackie Chan was starring in it I thought it might be too much for laughs and not enough kung fu, but it kicks serious pi gu! This was even better than CN/PC for action, great CG and good acting. Jet Li does well in two roles, as does Mr. Chan. thumbup.gif

In the Name of the King

A little over-rated and disappointing considering the 60 million dollar budget, the huge list of popular actors, the decent storyline and the gorgeous setting. But overall it was a great guy movie. The action and fight scenes were tremendous, but having Burt Reynolds try to play a serious role was not good. His character was the one that needed to be re-cast. But hey, with the triple eye-candy tandem of Leelee Sobieski, Claire Forlani AND Kristanna Loken, a guy could do worse.

Saw "Atonement" the other night. Ok. Was I the only one on the planet who hated this film? To me it was one of the most stupid films of the year. And so very sad, too. What made it sad for me was not the ending, but the whole film in total. It could have been such a wonderful love story if the screenplay had been so different.

Not my so humble opinion. unsure.gif wink.gif smile.gif

I've been a movi addict the last couple of days. I rented out P.S. I Love you-goodfilm and the lasses ill definately need kleenex. Swa Iron Man a couple a days ago. Great film for the guys-Downey's portrays Tony Stark as such a total rogue. Still no Bruce Cambell in that deprtment though. I saw Narnia tonight-fantastic film considering the shortness of the childrens book itself but the mouse playing bagpipes. That was the clincher for me. Definite thumbs up on all three movies. National Treasure out on DVD tomorrow.
