I caught The Illusionist on tv last night (thank goodness on one of those stations with no commercials) and it was really good. I wish I had seen it in the theatre now. And the other day, Borders had a really good sale on dvd's - for just $5.99 I bought Breakfast at Tiffany's and Love, Actually. My eldest daughter gave me the latter for Christmas a year ago and borrowed it recently. So I called her and told her she could keep it - she was a happy camper.

The very stimulating 'Elektra'. OK, maybe not mentally stimulating, but Ms. Garner is definitely worth a little eye-candy. tongue.gif

Bridge to Terabithia - if you haven't seen it, I really recommend it. It's hard to categorize this movie. For the most part it's a coming of age movie for pre-teens, but it holds quite a whallop!

Then the wife made me watch PS I Love You - OK I'll admit it. The movie was actually pretty good. Awesome scenery, good storyline, great acting....and one awesome soundtrack. It has songs from The Pogues, Flogging Molly and James Blunt, to name a few. The Pogues tune is an older 80's song that they did with the late Kirsty MacColl....Fairytale of New York. They play it at a wake. Again, I can't say enough about the soundtrack. Just awesome.

Hi Ranger,

It is quite strange (for me), but when Bridge To Terabithia came out I think I must have seen it at least three times and when the DVD came out, I bought it. After doing research on Katherine Patterson (the author), I bought a re-print of the book that she wrote back in 1977. I remembered that my wife had this book back when it was first published (she was a Sp.Ed. teacher).

In my opinion, the screen writers did an excellent job translating the almost-30-year-old book into what people can relate to now. It is very poignant and there's a lot of charm from the two main actors - Josh Hutcherson and AnnaSophia Robb.

Best cheers! Robbie
