hey Rindy! Hubby and I take naps during the day and that greatly helps. But if we know we're going to have a full busy day, we go to bed on time, 12:30 am! biggrin.gif

HBO is showing a movie right now titled, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. I have watched it twice so far. For those of you who are students of Native American history, this is the film for you. It is historically accurate and taken from one of the best novels written by Dee Alexander Brown re every Native tribe in this nation. The film focuses on the Lakota Sioux, but it pertains to all native tribes from 1876 to 1890. Our American Indian people were victims of almost genocide and to this day, nothing is being done for these people. Yeah, they have the casinos, but that money does not always go to the proper sources. I could go on and on over this issue, but will shut up as this is not the place. anyway, see the movie if you can! wink.gif

Hi muirchertach..I have never heard of Hot Fuzz! Thanks for the reports. now
I am "handing you a bowl of freshly popped corn!" Let us know when you get to see those films.

Celtic Rose- I think that HBO movie sounds really good. Now I wish I had HBO. That sounds like a lot of history..Cool!

I recently saw Ghost Rider with Nicholas Cage. I thought it was pretty good. Was shocked to see Peter Fonda in it. I think Sam Elliott is a wonderful actor and I was glad to see him, even if it was just brief....lol thumbs_up.gif

What movies have you seen recently?

Rindy, I am sure that "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee" will be on DVD after they quit showing it on HBO. I will keep you posted as to when that is as I surely intend to purchase it myself!

Watched two wonderful films the other night. "The Queen" with Helen Mirren and "Rumour Has it" with Jennifer Anniston. I LOVED both films, but the first one is terrific and deserved the Oscars and best film they got! Loved the film, Rumour Has It, as well, but know that one of the main charachters, Kevin Costner, has had hair plugs done since this film. Just compare! tongue.gif wink.gif Aren't I awful?! hee hee

Also saw, "The Break UP" with Jennifer Anniston and Vince Vaughn. Very good film as well. thumbs_up.gif

Those are my recommendations! wink.gif

I sure hope they make another one!! I soooo love Johnny Depp, or do I love Capt'n Jack? Hmmmm?

I recently took my girls to see Nancy Drew. It was pretty good. The mystry solving part was a lot of fun, just like the old Noncy Drew stories I remember. They threw in these stupid school scenes and that kinda didn't work, but this actress has a bright future! With a blood line like hers I guess she's a natural!

I LOVED Pirate's of the Caribbean!
Haven't been doing much movie watching. Need to catch up!

We just watched Blood Diamond the other night. It was an eye opener about Africa and the eploitation of African citizens. It really made me feel the real futility of idealism against our modern world when it comes to things such as oil, drugs (legal and illegal), diamonds, and whatever the powerful people want and can exploit to get.

Someone mentione Sam Elliot earlier- he was in a great movie a couple of years ago that was an independent film so wasn't in theatres that I know of- it's called Off The Map. Great off beat movie- an unusaul role for him.

I watched "Bridge to Terabithia" the other day. Not as much fantasy as I would have liked but it was still a good movie. Watch the documantary stuff to get addition info about the movie. Some of the creatures are based on people in the movie and even I didn't catch it untill I watch the "making of" stuff. Anxiously awaiting Neil Gaimen's "Stardust" Just started reading the book and I really hope the movie follows it. The illustrated version of the book has different fantasy characters in the faerie marketplace. Gandalf is the easiest to spot but he probably won't be in the movie which would have been really cool.

Tandvh- I loved Blood Diamond-Opened my eyes to the diamond market..

Roberto- I have Bridge to Terabithia to watch I heard it was so good

I recently saw A Good Year with Russell Crowe- I had to watch it twice. I didn't realize he could be so funny..probably considered a chick flick.

I also saw Hitcher finally with Sean Bean-WOW be prepared for some suspense. It was a bit more violent than I had expected.. I did like it though.

Sisterknight- I will have to check into that one. Sounds pretty good..

Just saw the movie which was good but 3 hours was too long for me and unfortunately we didn't stay 'til the end of credits so....

Watched Ghost Rider tonight and I found that I actually enjoyed it. They stayed true to the look of the comic which for me was important. The effects were pretty good and they didn't take away from the storyline. Sam Elliot as the western Ghost Rider was a great way to bring back the original comic book ghost rider into the story with the more popular incarnation-Johnny Blaze as played by Nick Cage. This for me is probably one of the better Marvel comic movies.

Also watch Miss Potter or the story of Beatrix Potter (Peter Rabbit). This was a delightful movie if you are an artist. I really don't know two much about her true life story but this was a fun story to watch especially when she interacted with her artwork. And hers was a great life story to learn about. It also got me to take up my sketch pad once again so there must be some magic in there somewhere.

For the umpteenth time, Harry Potter & The Sorcerer's Stone.

Can't wait for Harry Potter & The Order Of The Phoenix to come out in a couple of weeks!
