So what does everyone here think of Donald Trump?

No matter what he says he seems to be growing stronger everyday. But the clue to his rise in the polls may not be 100% tied to his comb over hair style.

It seems the western world is seeing a rise of right-leaning populist politicians both in the U.S. and in Europe.

"Across the Western world, a new breed of right-leaning populists like Donald J. Trump, Marine Le Pen in France and Viktor Orban in Hungary are surging in popularity by capitalizing on a climate of insecurity rivaling the period after the First World War."

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/11/world/eu...cians.html?_r=0

Mr. Trump also is considered an outsider to the American politicians today. He does not know them and they do not know him.

One item that might be driving his popularity higher is the gutting of the American middle class. Today's politicians and the Bushes, the Obamas and the Clintons have all played a role in this.

For example; contact tech support on any of your products and services and you will certainly be contacted by a representative based somewhere in Asia or South America. We bring in H1 visas for tech workers in this country so that businesses do not need to pay high salaries to American workers with the same skills.

So the options for the average American working is to get a job in service. Fast food, Walmart, Target and the likes. We are being squeezed by the current elites and politicians who really could give a damn about anyone else other than their polls and who they have helped as long as they are not Americans.

I think to a lesser extent, but still important, is that the shadows of World War II and the influence of that generation with the big liberal social programs to help people is being forgotten. Perhaps we are settling back into a pre-war WWI mentality across the globe. War is on the rise, refugees, political turmoil, isolation. It seem far more safer when it was just the U.S.A and the U.S.S.R. controlling everything and people are realizing in the U.S. that terror can strike even here on our soil...

There may be bigger undertones driving Mr. Trump's rise which could have global implications. He may be America's savior or he could be America's unraveling.

Is he the next Teddy Roosevelt or is he just a mad real estate tycoon with money to burn?

Love him or hate him, America is finally openly discussing things that were once under wraps until Congress passed a bill about it and we then complained that nothing was ever talked about before hand.

I saw a video of of an American Eagle attacking Trump, I think that should say it all!

Gotta say that virtually none of the candidates "float my boat" at all. If this is the best the Democrats and Republicans can do, it is a sad commentary on the leadership, or lack thereof, that our country has to deal with.

The only candidate that I remotely like among the major parties right now is Rand Paul and he has no shot (He's also not his dad, which is unfortunate, to me). The whole thing is a mess to me.

I left the Republican Party years ago and went Third Party. I love it when my friends tell me I waste my vote. Look, I vote my conscience and go to sleep at night a rest well! Hope you are able to do the same!

Take care and have a great day!

Same here Haynes...Paul is the best choice since his dad is not running and that is from a Democrat

We have lots of good leaders in this country but I do not blame them for not running, who wants someone crawling up their bum with a magnifying glass!

Totally with you on that. Tribal politics is the same. The Navajo government is generally a mess, but there are some individuals who really have the needs to the people at heart. The Tribal Council delegate in our area here is a fine man. Our Vice-President is also top notch. I only hope that more like these will come up and see if we can make a difference in Indian Country, then maybe America as a whole.

Hey maybe you and I should run . . . NAAAAHHHHH!! Lol!

Have a great day, Shadows!

We definitely need better leaders in America. We need to get big money out of politics and give the government back to the people.

I would be the first to vote for Haynes for any office! smile.gif

The fact that The Donald can't be bought and is free to speak his mind without worrying over "offending" anyone is so refreshing. I love that!!! But after listening to him and his freedom of speech lo these past few months, I can't say that I understand any of his politics. I don't know what his plans are for accomplishing the task of Making America Great Again. Nor do I think he has a modicum of insight into the lives of average citizens. I have seen him tell blatant lies which concerns me, but no more than anything that concerns me with the other candidates. Especially Hillary.

--------------------
The peculiar evil of silencing the expression of an opinion is, that it is robbing the human race; posterity as well as the existing generation; those who dissent from the opinion, still more than those who hold it. If the opinion is right, they are deprived of the opportunity of exchanging error for truth: if wrong, they lose, what is almost as great a benefit, the clearer perception and livelier impression of truth, produced by its collision with error. ~John Stuart Mill, On Liberty, 1859

Education: that which reveals to the wise, and conceals from the stupid, the vast limits of their knowledge.

It is very difficult to say who the next president will be due to convention rules and the rules of the electoral college. Regardless, I haven't voted for a Democrat or a Republican in years and don't plan to again. I will end up voting for whoever ends up as the Libertarian Party candidate because they are all way better than what either the Democrats or the Republicans have had to offer in years.

I think he is half Scottish, is mother was from Scotland and I have been told he keeps the family Coat of Arms in all of his residences.

Well the Antichrist is supposed to be of Roman descent. Not sure how that applies, but maybe it's a glimmer of hope? biggrin.gif

Trump certainly appears to be the clear R candidate.
