Future Broadcast Enhancements

One of the cool things about running this internet station is thinking about what we can do to make it better. As you all know, this summer has very much focused on building the site, making it visually please, easy to navigate, etc.

Really, it pleases the DJ very much to know that Highlander Radio is built upon a vast set of technologies that will allow us to continue our enhancements for years to come.

One piece of that technology is a broadcast programming language called PAL. It is built right into our broadcast software and will allow us to do incredible broadcast programming in the months and years ahead. For example, we can play the top 10 requests, play artists back to back, schedule a particular artist or type of music to play at a certain time, even automatically generate web pages of our future broadcast programming!

With our current servers, tools and software, we are only limited in our creativity in making Highlander Radio one of the best internet radio stations around! We hope that you will enjoy watching this site grow and as always, welcome your suggestions, comments and feedback!

Man wasn't that long ago when you were asking the first thing we'd like in the site and trying to figure out how the heck you'd do it now look at you.

You continue to amaze. Like I said earlier, can't wait to see it just 6 months from now!

I don't know if this is the place for this or not
But I was wondering if there is some way the title and artist of the song currently playing could appear at the top all pages - even when on the forums or using the personal messanger, etc....
Often a song comes on and I want to know who is siging it, but I don't want to go off of the page I am on. Especially since I am on a modem and my computer takes forever.

This really is an awesome site and I am at amazed how it continues to get even better.

Being new, I can only imagine the growing pains that you have gone through but I am impressed with what you have now.

We use to have the song artist and title playing on all pages of our site. We will consider this for a future enhancement as long as it does not slow down the site.

Another option is using our "Tune In" player or winamp which shows the title and artist.
