Leelee;

St. Patricks Day is on a Friday in the year 2012. I hope when it roles around you enjoy it for it could well be the last one. After all 2012 is the year of rhe Apocolyps. End of Days, Gotterdamerung, Armegeddon. or what ever else you want to call it. The sun will send out massive bursts of radiation, the mantle will melt , the crust shift, and the magnet poles reverse and relocate. Hellova party for St Paddy's Day.Oh yeah and when its all over the snakes will return to Ireland.

It was too cold and rainy for me to go to the Oak Forest Fleadh yesterday. I'm thinking of going to the Irish Mass at my old church Tuesday night.

First things first. Congratulations to Robert Phoenix!
Guess the grandchild couldn't wait and wanted to be there for the celebrations......

I agree with Leelee and will "whoop it up" once again this year.

As for Patch and Camac; I'll meet you in the "nether region" in 2012, since I told my Catholic great grandmother once that I would meet her there too. Guess that was my ticket to get that hot plate reserved....

mcnberry;

The more the merrier. One more and we will have a foursome for Bridge. Wait a minute, down there that more than likely entails building a brige over a lava flow. Oh well your welcome to join me.

And there the Irish will be, standing in the middle of it, four sheets to the wind, blaming it on the Sasenach. beer_mug.gif

From what I understand any day is a good day for a Guiness as far as the Irish are concerned.

Well, this was nice today -- the school served both corned beef and cabbage AND a beautiful Irish lamb stew, as well as real barmbrack and Irish breakfast tea. That's more than what we usually get. So at least I've eaten celtic. (The stew was excellent.)

Stoirmeil, sounds like you had the most excellent St. Patrick's Day thus far!!!! Wonderful smile.gif

I wore my green with pride today and even the local radio station played Irish Artists and some older songs, which was fantastic thumbs_up.gif

I've noticed around the Office some were wearing green. I think what bothered me the most was only 2 people had greeted me with a "Happy St. Paddy's Day" and when I greeted the co-workers they would say " oh yeah right and giggle" .....Must say it is odd than what I'm used to.....much different atmosphere compared to my old jobs....

Now I'm listening to a variety of different traditional celtic songs on my ipod and having a few to toast St. Patrick's Day biggrin.gif cheers.gif
