Stumbled upon this site searching the web for Celtic Thunder and anything to do with Ireland; planning a trip to Europe in early 2010, that'll be London/Ireland and Scotland. I know CT has their own fan forum but time to see what else is out there. Actually, went to their Los Angeles concert in November, 2008, yes, I admit, I got hooked. I've since been on the web listenng and searching for other Irish/Scotish talent, there's alot, but having a blast!
My name is Darlene, I live in Huntington Beach, California, actually a native of CA. My father was part 1/2 Irish and I've ALWAYS wanted to go to Ireland, even as a child. I have two grown sons, single Mom and a decent job, which is great considering people are losing their jobs all over the world.
Anyway, I'm glad I'm here and I look forward to any feedback, advice or whatever!

"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You will be finding a vey large collection of Scottish and Irish music here all in one place, and you can look over the collection systematically, under the playlist toggle in the banner. Lots of songs in Gaelic, too, which is a really nice benefit.
You might want to search on posts of the member called AShruleEgan, who is wicked knowledgeable about Ireland and I believe has done some considerable traveling there.

The Scots of course insist that the pipes produce music. But the point is after all not too important. For those who love them, the pipes can evoke more vividly than any other instrument, high emotion, they can inspire valor, and tell of tragic tales of battles long ago. They can call forth merriment or sentiment. It does not matter what the sound is called, those who are deaf to its merits would not understand anyway.
