Seems lately all we hear about is the gloom and doom of the financial crisis. Turn on the TV and you will see people fighting, blaming each other for the state of the world economy. Dire predictions of the end of the world seem to be made everyday by news publications and cable TV shows.

You know what?! Its all noise! Turn off that TV and tune into one of our wonderful and relaxing Celtic music channels and let the noise just disappear. Have a cup a coffee and enjoy the birds flying by your window or the leaves falling from the trees.

I think we all need a break from this never ending stream of panic stricken news casters! My recommendations would be:

Celtic Moon - Relaxing dreamy music.
BlueGrass Hills - Take a walk down the ol plank road.
SaltyDog Radio - Climb aboard ye ol clipper ship!

But most importantly, let us not forgot the famous words of Franklin Delano Roosevelt which seem to have more relevance and importance then anything we could possibly hear on the TV today:

"This great Nation will endure as it has endured, will revive and will prosper. So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself—nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance. In every dark hour of our national life a leadership of frankness and vigor has met with that understanding and support of the people themselves which is essential to victory. I am convinced that you will again give that support to leadership in these critical days."

You would not believe how much Celtic Radio has helped me since I have joined..I rarely tune into the News (only on the Local Radio Station getting ready for work for the News & Traffic), I don't watch senseless TV anymore and only tape the shows I am interested in.

I feel more relaxed and /or rejuvenated when listening to the different genres on CR. I would much rather tune into 365 and listen while I am doing Housework or even if company comes over (they enjoy it too). Thanks CR biggrin.gif thumbs_up.gif beer_mug.gif

I have to agree with Leelee! I am so glad I found this wonderful place. Between this and Live365 (for more Celtic Rock) I have not even bothered to buy a radio for my house: it wouldn't play what I WANT to hear!!

Thanks CR!!

in humble gratefulness....

I agree with you Paul there is just too much fear mongering these days and a good celtic tune that touches the heart really helps it all just fade away.

If only we still had FDR to help us through!

I listened to bush today and FDR he is not. None of us can instigate any change so working with family, friends, neighbors and voting is our best course.

I occasionally watch CNBC, but not a lot. I really don't have to worry about much. Because of things I have battled already in my young 25 years, I am already partially disabled, but that is a bit of a blessing as it insures that I am taken care of.

My vinyl records, Highlander and SaltyDog Radio, and keeping up with Appalachian State Football are what drown out all the gloom and doom, even though I've been out of work from my PART-TIME job for over a month now.

I used to be one to have the TV on from the time I got up until I went to bed at night. When I moved the beginning of the month, we were not able to get cable. I was not sure how I would survive without my TV. I am enjoying the quiet. I occasionally go and watch a movie but I have not missed the TV shows a whole lot.

Celtic Radio has helped. I can turn on the radio when I want and listen to wonderful music instead of fools acting like asses on the judge shows.

Thanks
