I also have a problem in keeping my post rating up. Most of the time when I am on here, I am at work and do not get a lot of time to post the in depth posts it takes to get the rating up. I try to get on more at home, but between hubby, animals and chores it just doesn't work out so I can very often. The highest I have ever gotten is 80%, but it never stays there very long before falling like a rock very quickly.

I tried to read fast thru this, but did not see an answer to the length of post question. Do we know how long a post has to be to count?

i'm no expert in the matter by any means but from what I've heard you need your posts to be probably close to a paragraph or somethin for it to really build your rating up. Posting in the forums of like one word games and such probably hurt your rating some.

but like i said i am in no way an expert as i just now got my post rating back up to 100% not too long ago.

I don't know that length of post really makes any difference, but possibly it does. I think that the quality of the post helps, but again, I don't know how exactly. I think it is a subjective system and an the folks at CR do a pretty decent job of it.

My 2.5 cents worth.....

I've not done any in-depth posts, but I've been lucky enough now to get my rating back up by posting in a few different areas, so I'm thinking that it's not necessarily the LENGTH of the post, but more a factor of involvement.
I've seen people who write lots of short posts have just as high a rating as those who write a few long, involved posts.

This would be nice tho to have explained in way that would be easily *?* understood by all, if it's not too complicated a subject matter by those who do know beer_mug.gif

Right now tho, after a long day yesterday at a local SCA event, I'm still exhausted and definitely wondering where the coffee pot is !

After taking some advice that was given to me my post rating is up to 100 and is easy to keep there.
I posted some jokes and feel good stories that have been sent to me by email. These helped get my post rating to 100. Now all I do to keep it there is to post in the topics that interest me. They are not very long, just enough to get my point across. The main thing that seemed to help the most is I have stayed out of the fun n games that only have really short posts.
I am usually at work when I am on here the most so I don't have the time for longer posts. This post doesn't count as it is Sunday and I am home. tongue.gif

mmmmmmmmmmmm Coffee..........my favorite as well. I guess it does depend a bit on the length of a post. What I have read is that the better your post the more you receive in gold, food and wood when they do the hourly granting of such goods. I haven't posted often but I guess the more you do, the better it is for you.

Lady MacLaren it is not the better the post but the better your post rating the makes a difference in resources, Now I have heard the more you put in your post the more it will raise your post rating, that a few words like just yes or no to something, will not help much. From all I have read I think they want you to put some thought in to the subject you are posting on. Hope this helps and I hope I am doing it right.

I would think any post would help your rating and certainly the frequency of posting, but those which are of some length, engaging and encourage a response just might improve ones rating.

What say ye?

(hmmm... let me see how my rating has changed...)

I agree.......and I guess that the more often you post the better your ranking becomes.
