I have the problem at work and at home. Just thought it was because we live in the boonies. The nearest city is 90 miles.

We will start looking into what the slow down cause is, but would appreciate feedback.
It could be a number of factors that we can control or tweak. We just removed a script that keeps track of our site stats through another site - quantcast - that could improve the speed. We also made a few other adjustments.
Let us know if things seem a bit faster on the forum now.
If thats the case, then I think we have identified the source of the slow down. Would appreciate feedback from the community - thanks!
Well I'm confused now. It's even slower here at home than it was before (15-20 secs for a page to load). I will try again in morning before I go to work and report results then.
Here at work this AM times are all over the place, though they seem to have settled down to about 5 sec between pages (which is noticeably slower than yesterday afternoon, but not as bad as it is at my house). I'm going to ask a couple people here at work who are on Embarq DSL at home to try the website tonight just to see if it's just me or everyone on Embarq here in SW Florida.
We've checked with a few people across the country and they are not experiencing any slow downs. This could be just the pathway that you are coming in might have an issue.
Wish there was more we could do. We have adjusted a few items on our head that should result in a better response time.
Today is the first day that it took a little while for the website to come up. I live in Central Florida. I just thought you would like to know.

One of my guinea pigs reported back. He's on a 5meg DSL w/Embarq and he was seeing about 20sec to load a page. I abused Embarq Highspeed support today and they naturally denied it could be their problem (though the tech support guy was in Orlando and he tried the website and said it loaded immediately, of course he's at a main switch/hub location for Florida and who knows how he connects to the internet, for all I know he has a piece of fiber running to his nic card right off of the main access point(s)).
Thats very interesting the page loaded up quickly for the tech support. That pretty much was my experience in trying the site in remote locations to our own.

See how they respond. I'd like to figure out if this is our local server or our California server causing the problem for you.
Hopefully they are not limiting bandwidth to certain media sites.
Hi Paul,
Both of those sites loaded almost instantaneously.
I spoke with Embarq HighSpeed Tech support again this afternoon. They ran a traceroute to www.celticradio.net (no obvious slow downs, just the timeouts when they hit speakeasy's server). The only difference between their route and mine is the path from Fort Myers goes through Miami to get to Atlanta and they hit Atlanta directly out of Orlando. They also tried accessing the website normally and it started to load immediately.
Embarq Tech support suggested that you try a traceroute back to me (I'll PM you my IP address, in fact, if I remember, I'll PM you my IP address each day until you tell me to stop since Embarq tells me that the IP addresses change about once every 24 hours, and I doubt you are sitting there waiting to work on this issue).
Embarq Tech Support tells me that the various carriers will not even look at a problem unless the time between hops exceeds 800ms and that anything below 100ms is considered to be just fine.
I ran a traceroute to all three websites and here are todays results:

I also went to speakeasy's website where they have an internet speedtest Speakeasy Speedtest and ran it using their New York based server and it showed my download speed @ 3meg. Of course I have no idea what route was used to perform the test.
