QUOTE (Dogshirt @ 09-Aug-2008, 12:32 PM)
Why do women have to tell us how to drive and give directions? We've lived in the same place for over 20 years and at least once a week as we get close to the driveway I get "Slow down, your turn is coming up." I MAY not always recall what the date is, but I HAVE NOT forgotten where I live yet. disgust.gif

beer_mug.gif

It's probably for the same reason that when men are sitting on the passenger seat and TELL us how bad we women drive.... tongue_ss.gif we take our revenge sooner or later....

That's funny because accidents are caused mostly by men that drives too fast and don't know when to slow down, it's like they drive with a brick on the gas pedal.
Always in a hurry!!!! beer_mug.gif

I'll have you know that I drive fast but very much in command of my car.

When I'll become and "old mama with a flowered hat" well then I'll drive like one old mama and everybody behind will get impatient and will pass me by and send me the fyou.gif and yell all kinds of profanities ranting.gif my way....

But I'll be half deaf and half blind, so it won't matter much to me,I'll just go on my merry way!!! biggrin.gif

My youngest son, in three years behind the wheel has: Two accidents; three speeding tickets; at least a half dozen official warnings; two suspensions; two court appearances and one threat to be thrown in jail!
Needless to say he makes me very nervous every time he drives a car.

My son is 37 and has not had a ticket or accident. My daughter is 36 and has had a ticket for a "rolling" stop and no accidents. I guess we are all lucky.

Of all the accidents I had to document as part of my job, I found about 50% to involve inexperienced drivers. They were not always at fault but inexperience was probably a factor.

I could tell some horror stories about my driving as a youth. The only reason I survived was the fact that there was much less traffic then. My parents only knew about the things I couldn't hide. I hit or was hit by everything from ditches to trains. The latter convinced me that I might be on a path to destruction!

I read somewhere that men are IN 50% more accidents than women, but women CAUSE (directly or indirectly) 200% more accidents than men.

I didn't say it, just read it!

If we were caught with those statistics we would have been open to a civil rights law suit. This info was to defend the state should it be included in a civil suit because of the accident.

What does this remind me of? Women attempt suicide about three times as often as men, but when men do attempt it, they are five times as successful. I think it's a similar issue of lethal technique.

As far as the idea that the little old lady causes the accidents that she herself never gets wrecked in -- that goes for many situations of life. We had one of those in the office I work in. She caused many acts of administrative road rage, by doing 35 in the high speed lane of business.

Just tuning in to read all the "hair" comments! I've had a good chuckle and it reminded me of checking on one of the boys (16 yr old-he was in the bathroom a long time), and nagging him to hurry up. Thirty minutes pass and exasperated I finally bang on the door and ask him what on earth he was doing (a scary thought had quickly passed after I said this....), but he answered, "I'm shaving!". I replied, "for a half an hour?"

At this he came out of the bathroom defiantly stating that he had to shave his face, chest, arms, and legs! I asked him what on earth for, and he replied, "girls don't like guys with hair!"

I couldn't believe it. Sad, but true story! Nowadays I'm convinced it's no worse having a girl or a boy!

I think its good to kinda groom-up...ya know ears, unibrow, but other than that...leave the hair!

I remember the days that if a guy didn't have body hair he was a sissy.
