Well, after chatting about sleep and the lack of it, we've also touched on dreams and how certain meds might affect them, etc. So, if you would like to share your experience with meds and dreams or just volunteer to tell us about your dreams, we'll even try to analyze what deep, inner meanings they hold.

One thing I can contribute off the top of my head is that I had the worst nightmares not too long ago after taking one Ambien. I didn't have the dreams the night I took it, but the following night when I took nothing. And my daughter took one (she was only supposed to take a half of one, but sneaked the other half when I was sleeping) and she had what you might even call a psychotic episode. She started hearing voices. Already having a problem with cutting herself, the voices told her to ritually line up all sorts of sharp objects and cut her arms and legs. Then they told her to come and cut me. Somehow, that snapped her out of it and she turned up in my room with her arms wrapped up in a towel, bleeding all over the place. Ambien is not our friend at my house.

Wow, that started off on a happy note.

Somebody else jump in - rindy?

Now thats what I call a nightmare pretentiouswombat! What does all that mean? I don't have a clue about dreaming other than I don't dream that much that I can remember because they say you dream all the time, but need to awaken to remember it..anyone else heard that?
I've been having these dreams about someone I care about a great deal that won't speak to me. Just makes me feel really wierd. No clue....lol...

Have you ever had one of those dreams in which you are trying to do something in the dream (like wake up because there's some sort of emergency situation) and you can't do it in the dream but, because the dream is so distressing, you are trying to wake up for real, but can't do either? That's what it was like when I was having my Ambien episode. I can't remember now what the dream was about except I do know it was one of those that I desperately wanted to awaken from and just couldn't. I was exhausted when I finally woke up and shaking all over, too.

I have the most intricate and detailed dreams, and I dream about people who I have never met.I dream so much that I'm exhausted when I wake up.
Ever dream your back in school and you can't find your classroom? It's soo stressfull!

I used to dream that I had an exam that I didn't study for. Or that I forgot my locker combination.

OMG, yes!

One of my daughters was a ballet dancer for several years - I used to have dreams that, instead of being a wardrobe mom handling costume repair, etc., I was supposed to be one of the dancers and I had no idea what to do once I got onstage.

Another I use to always have is that my teeth were falling out, or crumbling, I think that one is suppose to be stress related though.
And, we use to have a cottage in New Hampshire, and I still dream I go there and the new owners find me in their house and I feel very akward.

What about flying dreams? I don't get them very often but they are fun. Except usually they turn into the frustrating ones where you're running from something and can't get off the ground to get away. You know you can fly but you just can't anymore.

And, of course, the naked dreams. And nobody notices that you're just walking around totally nekkid!

Yep, your trying to run/fly away from something and you just stay in the same spot.
Ever dream that you actually die? I have twice and I could actually feel myself slipping away, very creepy.

I always have a glass of milk before I go to bed (sometimes warm) and try to keep from eating too late at night.

One of the dreams I have fairly regularly is what I call my "mean" dream. I usually get into an argument with someone and just go on a tirade because the person doesn't either agree with me or "get it". And I, of course, know exactly the right things to say - unlike real life when I can't argue my way out of a paper bag. Unlike my SO who can hold his own in any debate.
