Since we've been alluding to books that might be thought-provoking over in the Fun-N-Games forum, I thought I'd start a thread over here to give us a place to discuss reading material that makes us think.

I'm currently reading a memoir of Karen Armstrong entitled The Spiral Staircase. Interestingly, she was in a convent for seven years and that was just before and up to Vatican II. There are a lot of things I can identify with, having gone through that period of time myself. I am finding this a very, very interesting read.

I finished reading two books - "this is your brain on music" and "Musicophilia" it makes you think about how the brain works and most especially where music originates in the brain. It was a very fascinating reading - both books. They were both very easy without a lot of "scientific" hoobydy goobydy.
