Hee hee I love the fact that my hair color alone could have gotten me killed...now that it just gets me teased, I have not yet been a victim of gingerism (racism against redheads). So I've decided to see what good books are out there on red hair.

My favorite is The Roots of Desire: the myth, meaning and sexual power of red hair by Marion Roach. It has a really pretty cover too!

--------------------
Many times man lives and dies
Between his two eternities,
That of race and that of soul
And ancient Ireland knew it all.

" To a Scot, the past clings like sand to wet feet,
and is carried about as a burden.
The many ghosts are always a part of them, inescapable."
Geddes MacGregor

Hope, fear, false-joy, and trouble,
Are these four winds which daily toss this bubble,
His breath’s a vapour, and his life’s a span;
Tis glorious misery to be born a man.
~ from a Cornish gravestone

"Now I perceive the devil understands Welsh.”
"God defend me from that Welsh fairy,
Lest he transform me to a piece of cheese!”
William Shakespeare quotes

"Onen hag Oll", One and All (Cornwall's motto)

Well, around here it could also get you admired devotedly. Look out for a handsome devil named Dundee, who has a weakness for for ginger-locked lassies. angel_not.gif

I'm sure I'll be able to cope. No one has that around here since the color is fairly common.

Thanks for the book info- as redheads run strongly on both mine and my husband's families (both Scots) and myself writing a fairy tale about the origins of the redheads, I would love to check this out. biggrin.gif

Hey there, OAshOTreeO,

Glad you were able to become a redhead. I love red hair myself.

So did you come up with any red head books? wink.gif

There is another red heided character; His name is Jamie Alexander Malcolm McKenzie Fraser in Diana Gabaldon's series Outlander...a character that I literally fell in love with....a perfect man/gentleman in my books....are there any out there like that. I think not.

Oh! yes there is I'm married to one, maybe not as tall as Jamie but with long blond reddish hair and blue greenish eyes and muscular with long lashes it's almost silly. And he is the perfect gentleman. His name is not Jamie of course but has Alexander in it.And this one is not fiction for sure and prefer it that way too.LOA
