If you're ever been pulled over for speeding (or any other reason), you
probably should not say any of the following statements to the officer:

10. I thought you had to be in good physical condition to be a police
officer.

9. Sorry, Officer, I didn't realize my radar detector wasn't plugged in.

8. Hey - I was just on my way to Krispy Kreme. Want to come?

7. I was trying to keep up with traffic. I know there are no other cars
around. That's how far ahead of me they are.

6. Hey pal, I pay your salary!

5. Aren't you the guy from the Village People?

4. Hey, you must've been doing' about 125 mph to keep up with me. Good job!

3. Do you know why you pulled me over? Okay, as long as one of us does.

2. You're not gonna check the trunk, are you?

And

1. When the Officer says "Son, your eyes look red. Have you been drinking?"
you probably shouldn't respond with, "Well, Officer, your eyes look glazed.
Have you been eating doughnuts?"

Special Thanks to Dr. Bob Griffin

I've actually said # 9 before! biggrin.gif It didn't do me any good though. I've NEVER gotten off with just a warning. And I try to do it at least 2 times a year! rolleyes.gif

Worst speeding ticket I got was the summer before my only semester of college where I was late for work and on a backroad racing to get there. I got caught going 80+ mph when the speed limit was only around 35-40 mph. Its a good thing I got caught too. I still got a ticket for it, but the officer said he may have just saved my life doing it.

Never have said any of the above, thankfully. biggrin.gif I've always been straight and to the point and telling the officer "You got me, fair and square. What was the limit through here?"

Back in the early 70's I worked in Toronto and lived in Orangeville, 60 miles north of the city up Highway #10. The speed limit was 55 mph and I was doing well over 75 mph when the O.P.P. ( Provincial Police) pulled me over. When the constable came up to me I apologized for speeding but I really had a good reason. I told him that I had the worst case of the "TROTS" and I was trying to get home before I had an accident and made a mess of myself and the inside of the car. The constable must have seen I was looking very uncomfortable and he let me off with a warning to keep it down around 65 max. A couple of weeks later I met that constable again and thnked him by buying him a coffee. I just made it home that day when Mother Nature had her way.

Have you noticed in your area more speed traps and radars? I think they are making up for all the cuts in spending!!!!

Absolutely! We were listed with AAA as maintaining a speed trap. "Someone" reported it and upset their basket of apples!

I have a three way detector and use my speed control down to 30 mph. I can not get it to 25 mph so I watch the streets I drive on.

I've an old car, so I don't worry about speeding too often, as the old boy would have trouble going over 75. Still, these are quite funny. We haven't had any run ins with moving violations yet. When I was younger, my mom was pulled over for speeding, and while the officer was walking back to his car with her information, my brother, sister, and I sang "Bad Boyz" and "I Fought the Law and the Law Won" laugh.gif
