Makleasunshine, thank you so much for the thought provoking input. The info
will go into my diary. I don't like pastel colors, and pink not at all. Flowers are
to be in a vase or the garden, not on the walls. Our theme plan (right now??),
is to go somewhat rustic. We both love the heavy hand carved furniture and
a little western. Not pieces of animals hanging on the walls, that's yucky. Think
that would work. Is it something you would like to stay in?

I see you are in Washington state. I lived in Renton, Issaquah, and my family
then purchased 300 acres in Black Diamond. That was in 1958. I loved the
state but do to illness was forced to move to Arizona. The biggest mistake was
selling the Black Diamond property. I will always consider it home. With that
said, I again want to thank you for taking the time to help me on our quest.

Leyland, thank you for making a valid point. Yes I was in the hotel business, so to
speak. I was on the night shift for the LaQuinta Inn's for 2 years while I was
working on my doctorate. The seed was planted at that time and has lain dormant
for all these years. I retired from practice a few years ago, became a published
author as part of my dream package. Now I, with the help of my daughter, are
on to complete the next item on my dream list.

We purchased 38 acres on the old stagecoach trail in Northern Arizona. It is now
free and clear. This is where we might build our B&B, I say might because we are
still looking at already established B&Bs. I think to build would be to our advantage.
Our property borders on one side to BLM property, across the stagecoach road is
a working cattle ranch. Maybe we should be thinking more of a dude ranch. We
will have animals, I love to ride.
Again Thank you.

I love to talk to people who have lived here before smile.gif My family and I have only been here for 5 years now! We live in Bellevue and just staretd to look into buying a home in issaquah. You should see the homes they are buliding, I hate the tress coming down though. But they are so high up so the views are amazing!

Your theme idea for the Inn sounds good to me! I am so glad you liked my advice, I wanted to be so helpful smile.gif I wen to this site , a b&b's guild and looked over so many. I actually wish I could open a B&b but I am not sure if I could. If you want I can send you a link to the only one I have been to and tell you why I just LOVED being there smile.gif

Makleasunshine, I would love to have the web link. Thank you for asking.

I love the Seattle area and would move back tomorrow if I could. Now that
all health issues are settled. Lynn (daughter), is checking out properties
in the area. Buy, WOW!, the prices of homes are as high there as here.
But we really do need to get back to the ocean. Hard to play water sports in the
desert. I just do not like it here.

Anyway if you don't mind, please send me the web address to the B&B site.

Thanks again for all your help.

Hello smile.gif
Ok here is the site I told you about
http://www.wbbg.com/

I find it to be very helpful! I did try to find a b&b that had horses to ride but have not so far. The only thing about the b&b that I dont like is there isnt much to do. It is a perfect place for those who live hectic/busy lives and want a beautiful place to calmly relax in. Yet for people like me who love to be away from my home they lack things to do on the property.

But I still loved the one I was at, here is it's link

http://www.countrycedarinn.com/ we stayed in the garden room which was a bit more girly but it had a hugh bath smile.gif and a porch swing which we put a fluffy blanket on and turned on the dragon fly porch lights and had some hot choclate!!!
The inside was also so beautiful, and it smelled amazing! The Inn Keepers were so friendly and really made us feel welcome!

Hey why dont you email me and we can chat more about this elsewhere smile.gif
