Hi, i was wondering if someone could help me translate a phrase for a tattoo. Can anyone translate the following phrase?

For this i bleed myself dry
and also the words
warrior and poet

I don't no where it came from its a saying thats always been stuck in my head i'm sure i heard no somewhere just can't remember where. It something i've always tried to live by though kinda my motto.
