about 3 weeks ago when a beer truck tore down the power line to our house. We were without power for a week. We sent the kids to friends houses and we spent the night in our dark house drinking Skull Splitter and eating cheese by candle light.

"Be what you would seem to be--or, if you'd like it put more simply--Never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise." from "Alice in Wonderland"

"Irishness is not primary a question of birth or blood or language; it is the condition on being involved in the Irish situation, and usually of being mauled by it."-Conor Cruise O'Brien

DISCIPLINE MUST BE A HABIT SO INGRAINED THAT IT IS STRONGER THAN THE EXCITEMENT OF BATTLE OR THE FEAR OF DEATH. General George S. Patton
Laws that forbid the carrying of firearms, disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assulted, and better for the assailants. They serve rather to encourge, than to prevent homicides. For an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

Last night, was working on my pickup and couldn't get the part I was putting on to co-operate. My poor wife walked over to the shop to see if I was ok and I snapped at her. ( The old "Love is never having to say I'm sorry" is a lie ).
When was the last time you had a waffle Cone Ice Cream.
You're talking about a good cry - it has to be my best friend's funeral back on May 8 - she suffered from a 10 month battle with brain cancer. We sang "Non Nobis" in our choir (from the movie Henry V) with me doing the beginning solo. I got through the song alright, but afterwards I didn't do too well.
When is the last time you had a good heart to heart talk with your best friend?
I have what I call my best friends, my Wife is my best friend and we have heart to heart talks all the time, I couldn't live without her. Our youngest Son and I are the best of friends we talk on the phone for hours at a time about life in general but we have our very serious talks also. My younger Brother is my friend and ally in the daily battles of life, we work together and we have our heart to hearts because of our jobs we see almost everyday how a life can be changed in the blink of an eye. I am so blessed.
When was the last time you sat and just watched the stars?.
Probably back last summer. But, that will be remedied next weekend when we go to our favorite GA state park - no city lights around and all you see, on a cloudless night, are millions and millions of stars.
