loving all the great reports on Paws! Sounds she is doing so well! I find the pool thing fascinating cause my Shelties wouldn't be caught dead in a pool. One of them will not even go out if it is raining cause he doesn't want to get his paws wet! rolleyes.gif Irish, the female, couldn't care less, but I know she is not going as far as getting inside a pool! I have had 7 Shelties in the last 23 years and NONE of them have ever liked water and flip out if you even consider putting them in such a situation! biggrin.gif

Over the weekend, Princess Paws decided she was hot from running in the woods. So, she raced down and ran across the pool, from end to end, repeatedly. She took obvious joy in the splash that came with each step, as the pool cover dipped into the surface of the water beneath it. She was drenched by the second pass.

Paws will be in for a surprise next week. The pool cover comes off on the 30th. laugh.gif

We had a breakthrough in communications yesterday. I was in office and Paws decided she wanted out. So she ran over by the stairs and went "woof", softly. It was her first clear vocal request to go out. thumbs_up.gif

Paws could be in for a huge surprise when the pool cover comes off. Be sure to shoot video-tape. It could be worth big-bucks

I will see about doing that. Thanks for the suggestion Swanny.

In todays episode of "As The Puppy Turns", The Daddy's early morning training is bearing "fruit".....

From the mommy:

I just took Paws out and said to her, "Paws, pee." And she peed! Then I pointed at the steps leading up to the upper tiered area and said, "Paws, poo". And she walked up the stairs and trundled over the ivy and pooed! I was amazed. I told her she was a good girl and told her to "Come" and we went back into the house and I gave her a goodie. MY dog is so well behaved!

Sounds wonderful, Maisky, and I am so happy for you! Sounds like you have an extremely intelligent doggie! I bet you all are enjoying her very much, eh?

Now can you come out here and teach my Princess "Irish" Sheltie from digging into trash cans from taking tissues out and tearing them up all over the house when she gets mad at me? Good grief! I promise you Irish rules this house, not me! I know...it is my fault! rolleyes.gif

"As The Puppy Turns":

Over the Memorial day weekend we did some more boating. I thought I would share a couple of pics of Pricess Paws (doggish princess).

And the second one. Note the expression of puppy ecstacy. We are going fairly fast at this point. biggrin.gif

Maisky, you are so funny! I love the title of "puppy ectasy" as Princess Paws does look like she is in doggy heaven! She is growing fast, isn't she?! Beautiful girl and sounds like she is smarter than a whip! Thanks for sharing all your stories. I look forward to more! smile.gif

"As The Puppy Turns":

Today sees the pool cover off. Princess Paws has shown little interest in the pool, which is still green from the winter. She sniffs at it and puts nose in the air as she prances past it. We took Her Majesty to the vet for booster and rabies shot. At 4 months old, she weighs 35 pounds. Whenever we go into the garage, to leave the house, she walks over to the boat and looks at it whistfully.

No doubt, behavior learned from Daddy. biggrin.gif

You may have a point there.... tongue.gif

"As The Puppy Turns":

Training of the tiny baby (4 months, 35 pounds) proceeds apace....The Mommy's latest move was to move a chair over next to the grooming table and get Princess Paws to climb onto the chair then onto the grooming table. She already sits and stands quietly on command while The Mommy grooms her. The Princess is very vain, and loves being groomed.

Oh, such wonderful stories about the Princess. She sounds sooooo inteligent and learns very fast! I bet it won't be long that Her Highness will be in that pool! wink.gif

I, too, have a Princess in my house. Her name is Irish! As most of you know, we got her about 2-1/2 years ago. She is sooooo female! LOL I am used to having male doggies. She also rules the house and me! No matter how much I try to train her otherwise, she does an awesome job of training me instead. rolleyes.gif wub.gif

"As The Puppy Turns":

This weekend's activities focused on intensive cleaning of the pool. This is made easier by, when pulling the filter basket, you have a furry back in your face. Paws insists on helping with EVERYTHING. She is very, very curious about the pool. No attempts to enter it have occurred yet. She still seems puzzled by this large pond that appeared when the nasty men stole her trampoline. rolleyes.gif
