Just to let all my good friends here on CR know: I have reached a settlement with Purina for my poisoned friend. The Blood Money wont bring back The Dump, but it brings closure. In the mean time, the Demon Pup, Princess Paws is helping to fill the void. thumbs_up.gif

Maisky, very glad to hear you reached a settlement. I realize it will not bring back "Dump" but in some way I hope this will bring about some vindication.

We had to put Max to sleep on Monday. He was the last of our canine children. My heart is breaking, but I know that he is with Sadie and Cody now and not in pain anymore. Our last three children passing all in one year has been really hard, but they enriched our lives so much. To my friends here who have pets, please stop and give them a hug.

Iím so sorry for you, I know how it feels to loose the companionship of a dog. Itís been some 5 years since I lost Hudson, and I have yet to find a dog that could fill his paws but maybe soon, maybe soon.

Oh, Val, it's so hard Max had to leave you on Christmas Eve, but you're right: he isn't in any more pain, and he's home for Christmas with his old friends. I hope the memories soften and sweeten over time, so your holidays have a special dimension added, both while you are healing and later, when you are ready for another friend who needs you to come share the love and faithfulness that Max, Cody and Sadie left with you to give him or her.

I have found this late in the thread... but will add my thoughts.
MacDougall, my border collie, passed away three weeks ago tonight. I didn't think I could love someone that much. Walking on snow covered roads in the winter, I always took someone coming close to me in good nature. Come close to the dog, now we have a problem.
Always go to war for those who can't protect themselves. They are our responsibility. Even though it doesn't help the one you lost, those responsible are still responsible.

Val, my gosh you have had been through a lot this year!

Just remember you were their mommy and loved them well for the season given to you and now they are in doggy heaven being taken care of for eternity. Still doesn't erase the pain at this time and I feel for you so very much. My thoughts, prayers and big hugs go to you at this time.

dawsrobe, I am so very sorry for the loss of your best furry friend. I will keep you in my heart, mind and prayers during this very difficult time. sounds like you are about to embark on a new and very rebunctious puppy though. Good luck! biggrin.gif

I love what you say about "always go to war for those who can't help themselves." Please don't take this as bragging, ok? But I am now proudly wearing around my neck what they call a "charity charm." On the front is a sterling silver heart with a doggie paw in it. On the back side it states, "Arizona Humane Society, spay and neuter program. Just makes me feel good that I am contributing to the safety and spreading awareness concerning our God's furry creatures.
