Well, it was time for a new poll and I thought perhaps something along the lines of current events would be interesting this time around.

I for one am feeling it at the pump. These prices are crazy. I filled my tank about last week and now I see the prices are going up to around $2.50 a gal. and even higher!

We are starting to think twice before we go for that extra car trip and day trip. Anyone else doing the same? no.gif

The gas prices nowadays make me want a Prius or a Mini Cooper.

I drive 75 miles one-way to work. Gas prices suck right now. However, I'm not about to stop driving as a result of it. rolleyes.gif

I drive a 1991 Geo Metro ( you know the car that was called disposable after 5 years ) with 276890 mile on it and it still gets 50 + mpg...
but the current prices are limiting some extra trips I would have made.

Gas prices censored.gif suck!!!

I totally agree. One day it is $2.28 a gallon then the next it drops to $2.19.Then by the next morning it is back up to $2.29. I call it Price gouging. I don't care what anybody calls it.
My sis in law went to this one town that was about 20 miles from where she lives and it was $2.01. That was the day it was $2.28 here. thumbdown.gif

I agree, the gas prices suck. But you know, we've still got it better than the isles we so adore. I made sure I got some pics to prove it, when I was over there las t April. Lemmie locate one, but it was showing approximately 1 Euro/L. comes out to some $5.00/Gal

Here we go, keep in mind that the price is in Euro, and it's per Liter, not per Gallon. That's 99c in EUROS

At the time, the exchange rate I was getting was approximately $1.35 to one Euro, this past April.

Current exchange rate can be found at www.xe.com, and www.onlineconversion.com for those of you who are like me and don't remember the Gal/L conversions right off the top of your head...

I think the gas prices suck, but I'm not going to complain. I drive a VW Jetta, I filled it two weeks ago and I'm jst now having to go to the tank again. I looked at the hybrids and frankly I decided I'd take the gas hit to drive a car that was more fun to drive and less just a means of transportation. Hybrids can get up to 60 mpg, I get around 30, so i could potentially have visited the pump once a month and decided otherwise. People are buying up scooters, hybrids, and minis, and more power to them. If it wasn't a 6 month wait I might have bought a mini.

Frankly I think we have noone to blame but ourselves for our gas dependencies.

I have a brand new Camry & love it...I get a little over 30 city & almost 40 highway (have been to Utah twice & Colorado once already) but still prices are hard to believe! I'm not one to make silly trips here & there - I drive where I need, try to get as many errands done at less stops (Super Walmart helps with that) but even today I decided that next week instead of driving my youngest children to school, we'll walk. It is not very far but when you consider in The Valley Of The Sun, we are under an 'extreme heat advisory' - our children can't even go out on recess. Never-the-less I'll walk them up there in the mornings and like normal my oldest will pick them up on her way home from school. She is feeling the gas bite too...something about - "Mom, one gallon of gas is almost as much as my lunch cost!" hint-hint, I need a larger allowance...oh well...we are dependant on our vehicles but somethings gotta give...wish I had a hybrid now or an electric!

Here is an update, in north Florida, they have "out of order" signs on regular, and midgrade gas. I have seen places in town that are only offering premium now. Luckily I have a small car that can go for almost a week before fill up time. But I'm still avoiding extra trips.

Here in the Chicago, the tollway oasises used to be the most expensive around. Today, I heard of people lining up on the offramps because they were the cheapest in the area.

I'm just wondering how long it will be before we start looking back on prices like theseuser posted image
and think "gee, I remember when gas used to be cheap!"

Hey there!

Amy, I have a 2004 Camry and love it. I am getting about the same as you per gallon. Gas here in Wyoming was $1.89 as of yesterday.. I don't know but I am so glad I didn't buy a SUV.. Thought about it.. I was thinking the same with the hybrid kind of wish I would of waited.. What color is yours? Mine is blue..a strange blue..
Have a good weekend everyone..
