OMG; I understand that those of celtic background probably do want them to stick to traditional or new celtic songs; but aren't there many that are doing just that? I think that as a group or solo, they are appealing to all ages and types of music, and I think they are doing a great job.

Don't get me wrong IrishBeachLassie...I also enjoyed Keith Harkin's "Lauren & I", written by Keith, as we both know. I just don't want them to be "sucked" into singing top 40 at a constant rate. That's all I am saying smile.gif

No harm meant; they are doing a awesome job and I'm sure they will be around for a while. I am patiently waiting for them to return to California, I hear there some different stuff in this show!
take care and Happy Easter!

I watched the Celtic Thunder special on PBS the other night. Gotta tell you: not what I expected. It is essentially a male version of Celtic Woman. The guys are talented no doubt. But the Mrs. and I both commented that it seemed that only 1 of every 3 songs had a celtic influence. Frankly, they seemed more akin to Broadway show tunes. If you have Celtic in your title, I expect a bit more celtic tunes.

I totally agree! I liked Celtic Woman much better, and would have liked Thunder better if they were even at their level, but I found them kind of 'flat'.

Celtic Woman, kinda so-so and boring; the Thunder has a lot more personality and has more fun; Woman are way too serious! Don't get me wrong, the woman are very talented and beautifull, not sure if they are having any fun and want to be there!

note.gif I like them both!

But I get to see Celtic Thunder live in a couple of weeks. I doubt very much that I would ever see Celtic Woman live in our neck of the woods.

Does that make me a Thunderhead?

You are very lucky, you'll get to see Celtic Thunder soon, I have to wait till the Fall/Winter tour; I did see them last November, seats were too far back, need a close up on those lads. I'm not into Celtic Women too much, I like them, but wouldn't go to a concert to see them, not my thing. Have fun at the concert!

I can't wait until the Fall...but I guess I have too...Damien's voice I had heard on utube around St Patricks day but you know the sound on utube doens't do anyone justice..I'm glad to hear they were great, they certainly were when I saw them last Fall, turned my life around!
