Hi Gang

I have slowly started to add a site search engine into my new nav bar. It will allow you to search my entire site to find items that might better serve your needs. Bare in mind at present only a few pages have been added to it as I just started it tonight but so far it seems to be working just fine. I will be adding additional pages to it's searching abilities to expand your search results.  :)

Hi Gang

I didn't like that search engine I used last night was just to much of a hassle to maintain so wrote a friend of mine and he gave me a link to a much better search engine it does all the work. All I had to do was customize the look and add the coding to my page. So have it all added. You can search in two different ways via the nav bar for a basic search or click on the search button for both a basic and advanced search plus also added a google search for searching the web. I think I have it looking OK at all screen resolutions but not 100% sure so if any of this looks weird let me know so I can try and correct.

Hiya... :)
could it be that your board is down or something like that?
I can't get any access to it...

I noticed Paul's changed the look of the main page so maybe he was doing something unsure but just went there and loaded fine for me. Have a try at it again. Could have been net issues as well.

Now question Did you try and get there via my link in my signature? If so I will correct that right now as I can't seem to remember if I corrected that link but will check it right now. All my website links work fine though getting to it.

In fact just just checked it and if you used my signature link that's why I forgot to change that link as well as we reinstalled the whole message board and imported all the messages and members as we still had just to many issues behind the scenes so the great folks at Ikon Board got it all worked out.

I also want to tip my hat to Paul for giving it a great try but was just way to messed up from that hit last month but he gave it his all trying to get it up and running for me but was messed enough took someone familar with the inner workings of that system to get it running again but in the meantime it also changed URL's so...

Thanks! and also that's the last major new feature I will be adding for right now was the nav bar and search engine. So now a matter of doing as Paul did and having a look at my main page as I know I have one item (Scottie) which is causing my main page to load slowly so am going to try and resize him and make him a little smaller both in size and file size and see if that helps him load faster and hence the entire page load faster as once he loads the rest of the page loads quite fast..

Also going to remove a few broken items do to one guy not maintaining his web list so the lists doesn't work plus also the banners old and such plus check the over all site as well as continue to add some new links and such. I plan on also adding a Greyfriar's Bobby page as have been wanting to for some time but just never got around to it. But with the post that Aon did on both my forum as well as Paul's I figured it was time to so watch for that also in the coming days. :)

If you have any suggestions for new features you would like let me know. If I already have it I'll point you to it and if I don't I wil consider adding it if I can find the right one. Hard part is finding it without the forced advertising that's why I like this new search feature only add they place is a powered by logo (Small) on the results page so this I don't mind. Just hate the pop up ads and such drives users away not in.  ;)

Well i fiddled with another program I have for animations and magaed to cut Scotties file size in half. So this should help him load faster when I replace him after the copy right issue deadline of the 22nd. Hopefully this will allow the page to load slightly faster.

I do as well, but until the 22nd best to try and help Paul out and with Scottie and the intro banner plus the message it just pushes the menu way down to far to figured it best for both parts to keep the message at the top and that way the users (New that is as current already know the site) doesn't have to scroll to find the menu). But he will return short. It's the 14th so about a week left or so.

I'm for that.

Also a quick update

I added a new page this morning On Greyfriar's Bobby. Has 10 new links to sites relating to Bobby and that area of Edinburgh. It's under the Famous Scots page. Enjoy!  :)
