A bad joke I heard last night:

Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish he'll sit in a boat drinking beer all day.

QUOTE (Rindy @ 28-Mar-2007, 12:56 AM)
wow you were in Jackson Hole and it was that warm I can believe you.. lets hope we get a wee bit more snow then raind.....oh yeahhhhh fishing time again...

Slainte smile.gif

Fishing? Did you say fishing? I can hardly wait!

Have been to Jackson a couple of times since this post and it was beautiful each time. Only drawback is that tourist season has started - ugh! Jackson has changed so very much - been taken over by people who came to Wyoming to get away from their big city stuff but have only brought all their garbage with them. So sad. Same way at my river place. They have come in and put up fences and gates with locks where it had been open area before.

Oh well..............keep smilin'! biggrin.gif

QUOTE (coastman @ 15-Feb-2007, 01:07 PM)
Next to my grandkids saltwater fishing is my passion. Being a licensed Coast Guard charter boat captain I am able to introduce many people to saltwater fishing on Georgia's coastal waters. One of my memorable fishing experiences was when my grandson caught a bonnethead shark. He was only 7 at the time. This shark almost pulled him overboard. When I brought the shark on board the shark was as long as Sam was tall. The shark was released unharmed and Sam was all smiles. The length of the shark was about 4 ft. cool.gif

Ok, Coastman, I'm coming to visit you so you can take me out on the boat!!! Then you can take me fishing for some great ocean fish. Have never gotten to do that but would love to!! Heck, I'd love to have my own fishing show where I'm forced to travel around the world and go fishing. That would be such punishment lol.gif lol.gif lol.gif

QUOTE (mydogisaleprechaun @ 30-Mar-2007, 03:16 AM)
i went deep sea fishing once...that didn't go too well! used anchovies and squid for bait...i caught a couple of real winners! My bass was just barely big enough to fillet, and the other one was something very ugly, spiky and poisonous! thank god someone told me not to try to take it off the hook myself!! i don't even like fish anyways...they smell!

biggrin.gif Well you are ahead of me..........deep sea fishing would be awesome even catching a small bass. Someone would have to bait my hook for me though - there's a reason I'm a fly fisherman. lol.gif Poisonous fish? There is such a thing? How scary is that!!! Fish smell? Only thought that was the case when Miss Mathilda Peabody (by dog) rolls on the dead discarded nasty decaying fish. I learn something new every day. fish.gify

The time has finally come! I signed the registration papers Tuesday. I take possession of the new bass boat Tomorrow. It will also be the occasion of her maiden voyage. Ill try to get a picture. The boat shop owner is going out with us on the maiden voyage of the "Dumpling". He is going to show me how all the "stuff" on the boat works, from the fancy fish finder to the trolling motor. I am too excited for words!

As Promised, here is "the boat Karen bought for me". The Boat's name is "The Dumpling". Note the comfy pedestal seats, the electric trolling motor and the fish finder. The motor is a 30 hp, 4 stroke, Mercury with power trim. The Dumpling has a live well and is sweeet to handle. Now I have to teach her to catch fish. thumbs_up.gif

"The Dumpling" is a very nice boat indeed. Have fun!
I forwarded the pic you posted to Sir Richard and he answered:

"I can see why Maisky is so happy about his boat. It looks like a nice Fishing Boat, one that I could even Flyfish from. smile.gif"

Nice Rig!! Enjoy the water with your family and friends. Have your beer when you return to shore. Beer and boating do not mix. Learn the Rules of the Road as it will keep you and your family safe on the water. Remember Saftey First. cool.gif
