I am a Highlander Radio/Celtic Radio Founder who has supported this community for more than 11 years. I have been away for a while and now I find I am not allowed to listen. What is wrong?

Now that oats have become so trendy due to their 'heart-healthy' attributes, I would be interested to learn about the oatcakes your grandmother used to make, her recipe for them, and how they were served.

Macfive, What has happened to Highlander Radio? I can no longer tune in to my favorite, indeed my only, internet radio station. Now when I attempt to tune in, I get this popup from "live365.net" saying it will cost me $3.65/month to continue to listen to Highlander Radio. I made a sizable contribution to Highlander Radio just a few months ago, when you needed support for continuing your free services. Now your services are no longer free. I feel I have been cheated!

Much obliged to all of you for your helpful comments and information. I'll adopt a more cynical attitude toward Hollywood interpretations of scottish history.

I take great pride in my scottish heritage and find great satisfaction in wearing my kilt and other regailia on every occasion I can. My ancestors were scottish patriots banished as indentured servants (prisoner slaves) to North America.

I would like to celebrate my scottish warrior heritage by wearing traditional leather armor (of the kind worn by the scots in Braveheart) with my kilt. Is the leather armor shown in the film Braveheart truly authentic scottish battle garb? If so, where could I find information on how to make it?

Thank you all for your suggestions. I think I'll start with Black Watch and Simon Fraser University Pipe Band.

I enjoy traditional Scottish bagpipes and drums, but I know very little about it. I especially enjoy the "old favorites," e.g., Scotland the Brave, Amazing Grace. Can someone suggest a CD I ought to get?
