the good example is Dougie MacLean
some is not available in states at all
must be ordered from dunkeld.co.uk or amazon.co.uk

and if you search for Steve McDonald, you may find something interesting

I've bought a few Runrig albums from the UK. I can't remember the company--it does require some patience, due to the longer shipping times.

I've gotten a CD or two from overseas.
Particularly good was a compilation called "The Piper's Rock" which features a bunch of up and coming uilleann pipers from Ireland. Unfortunately, it was recorded in the 70's and was only re-released in a small quantity.
I finally found an American Uilleann piper who ran his own CD importing business who was able to get it for me. He took care of all the hassle involved; I just remember the CD being a tad more expensive than others (mostly cause it was rare I think) and it was a sizeable amount of time between when I placed the order and when it came in.

It's not quite a CD, but I also ordered a Low D whistle from Howard and Sons. That was a great transaction except for the part where I had to convert $50 into pound sterling and send a money order across the ocean. wink.gif

BTW...the CD distributer was Phillip Varlet. I think his business is called Celtic Imports or something like that. I recommend him highly. Fast, efficient, and reasonably priced considering the whole getting rare CD's from another continant deal.

Cheers
