Does Obama Face a 2012 Challenge In His Own Party?

Leading liberals are already thinking the unthinkable: Challenging President Obama for the Democratic nomination in 2012.

According to a report on the left-leaning Huffington Post website, MSNBC host Keith Olbermann and Eugene Robinson, an African-American national columnist for The Washington Post, discussed just such a possibility Thursday night. Robinson said Obama needs to be careful how he handles the health care reform issue and the continuing wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Rasmussen Reports Article

Is the Obama Administration starting to implode? President Obama has been in office less than a year and discussions like this are taking place. Or is this some silliness within the left? If some are unhappy with the way things are currently going what does it say about the left? Are current policies wholly inadequate as they are and the thinking is more radical?

What does it say about the participants? Are they just delusional?

Thoughts?

There are extreme divisions in the party and much depends on the outcome of the health care bill, the stimulus and our ongoing wars. I suspect that is why he is now backing health care against all odds and reconsidering our position in Afghanistan.

With his poll numbers falling precipitously and near continuous leaks coming from various agencies there appears to be no control or continuity. Should this continue, all gains in this election could be lost in the next two. Those in control of the party are most certainly aware of this.
