This is just a note to let all of our listeners know that our broadband maximum listener slots of 100 is about to max out soon. Based on our increasing listenership & traffic, this will probably happen in the next 1-2 weeks (if not sooner!).
For those that have a live365 preferred member account you do not need to worry about a listener slot as we have unlimited listener slots for preferred members.
If you are unable to connect using our free broadband stream (because it max's out), try our modem stream. We have 30 free slots for modem users and it usually is not more than 50% utilized.

So does this also apply to Founding members as well? Or will only the Live365 Preferred Members benefit?
This would be an incentive for me to join one or the other. I would prefer to join CelticRadio.net instead of Live365, but I'll join whichever one continues to let me listen to CR on broadband.

Do you get any of the money if I sign up to live365 VIP account? If not I would prefer to become a founder member. However, if founder members do not get guarunteed listening I would hesitate about getting either...

The CelticRadio Founders club does not include any listening advantage. The purpose of this club is to offer enhanced member services on our site and also support our CD contest. That is why Founder members are automatically signed up for the monthly CD contest and are eligible for special contests and promotions - like our wicked tinkers giveaway. Complete details can be found here:
The live365 preferred member account gives you access to Highlander Radio's CD quality stream, advertisment free listening, always gtd a listener spot and you get access to 1000's of other quality stations. We get a 1 time $4 referral payment that goes towards our license fees due in February 2005. Preferred listeners that make Highlander Radio their favorite station or listen to Highlander Radio also contribute towards an ongoing monthly commission out of your live365 subscription payment. It is very small, probably like 20 cents a listener for 1 month of listening and it is dependent on how many hours you listen. So for preferred listeners keep that player open and playing!
Thanks again for everyones support! We are now listed as the 140th most popular channel (broadband) out of 1000's of channels on live365. This number keeps getting lower each month, so hopefully we will be in the top 100 soon!

the situation will get worse once T-Mobile launches EDGE (supports up to 100k stream) due to more users to listen on the road with 64k stream
We do have a few options available to us in the event that Highlander Radio becomes so popular that we have no free listener slots available. I for one do not ever intend to make Highlander Radio an all subscription service. If we can develop a model that supports the site through a mix of advertising, merchindise and CD sales we could switch to a professional broadcaster account ($100 a month) which has about 500 listener slots available.
That maybe a few years off, but the point being is that our goal is to invest anything we earn back into the site to make it better for everyone to use.

Is this something that Live365 tracks, or do we need to choose a setting somewhere?
