Simply click on the correct answer. As you go, the quiz will automatically interpret each answer to show you what your answer implies about you. When you are done, press Compute My Score. Your score will be calculated as a percentage: 0% is pure Yankee and 100% is pure Dixie.

41% (Yankee). "Barely" into the Yankee category by the quiz standard, but most regional responses were heavily Great Lakes thumbs_up.gif .

Yeah right! I've lived in the northeast my entire life and some of the things that they said is southern or southeastern, my friends and I say daily and none of us have lived below Pennsylvania. Not sure how they can be typically southern when people from the northeast use them in daily speach.

Well I am a halfbreed then - but not a born one LOL

I guess we in Germany take half of the Yankees and half of the Dixies and be merry about it.

83% (Dixie). Was there ever any doubt? wink.gif

37% Yankee; although I am not entirely sure this script is working properly. I hit calculate again and again and it gave a different score going all the way to southern.

I definitely have a New England/Boston accent. For some reason when I speak to people down south they love my accent. Of course, I love their accent too but I don't detect my accent.

By fate do I live in the North. My ancestor Hugh MacArthur from 1770 was headed towards North Carolina where in supposedly had family. He was ship wrecked off Prince Edward Island 1770 or so......

That is the weirdest thing ever. I was born in Indianaand now I live in Ohio. I've barely even visited the south, weird! I'm totally a northerner by birth, I just never knew I was a southerner by heart...haha!

61% A Definative Southern Score!

Okay, Nebraska is neither North nor South. I do, however, live in the southern part of the state which could possibly account for my score. Of course, most of my family came to this state from North/South Carolina, so, perhaps at the core I am southern!!! (one can only hope!!!) tongue.gif

The first time I took this quiz, my score was 63% Dixie. I was surprised because most of the responses said common across the US, or were common to Great Lakes and Midwest regions (I'm Ohio born and bred, parents both from Indiana). So I decided to play around with the answers a bit, just to see how my score would change. I chose phrases that were more attributed to Northern, when I could, then recomputed --the lowest score I managed was 52%, still in the Dixie catagory. Something fishy here, me thinks
