<hr>Welcome to the Cryptocurrency and Block chain forum on Celtic Radio.

Have you purchased crypto over the past few years? And if so, did things not go as planned?

We have opened this forum up to help answer the questions you might have. Recent data from the FBI shows billions of dollars in crypto theft from hard working people that just wanted to get in on some incredible returns. Those investments have turned sour as we are still in the depths of the Crypto Winter and as the SEC wages a losing war on the companies trying to create to a decentralized world.

During my travels in Crypto I have learned a few things and have been able to help several people out that got duped by some unscrupulous players. If it is too good to be true, it probably is! I have also tried to warn people, especially elders, when they may be a target of a scam.

If you are looking to run something by me or just want a plain layman answer to your Crypto question, then this is the place. Honest and frank discussions. Look for future posts on the different cryptocurrencies and technology that someday be the backbone of the internet...

With so many boiling points across the world is it possible we are headed to another Global conflict?

Ukraine, now the middle east and could Taiwan be the next flash point.

I would venture to say with the amount of military assets being sent to the middle east that there must be real concern that Israel could be over run if fronts were to open from the North with Hezbollah and to the east with the West Bank. But it seems everyone is forgetting that Israel probably has around 90 nuclear weapons and you wonder if the ultimate goal of Iran is to antagonized them to use them.

So the U.S. has sent the Gerald Ford strike group and the Eisenhower strike group is on it's way. I was surprised to hear several other high profile ships are headed to the region. A show of force or a harbourer of things to come?

If you have not noticed we have done some rearranging with the forum including activating some long lost forums (including this one). It is interesting to read our thoughts back in 2014 on this Putin and how things did end up turning out.

Will this war ever with Russia and Ukraine?

Ok I will start! biggrin.gif

How's life treating you all?
There have been ups and downs, but mostly downs for several years. MS got my wife, but we are dealing with it and learning. That started changing when Haynes on here started praying for me and miraculously, Life is improving. We have a beautiful Grand daughter and kids that visit us often. Life is good once again.

Who is your favorite Celtic artist?
Charlie Zahm always gets me with his songs even after all of these years. I have not seen him in 10 years would love to go see him if he comes up New England way.

What are your hobbies and interests?
Have too many hobbies and not enough time. Recently got a new keyboard for Christmas and been pulling out the old sheet music. Setup an eight bit retro computer room and have been playing the games of my youth. (Commodore). Also interested in Crypto - but the bottom fell out!

What is your favorite Celtic group, style of Celtic music, and favorite instrument? Harp, guitar, fiddle, drums?
Albannach is definitely my favorite, mainly because I love their concerts. I can yell, whoop, dance and listen to some of the finest Scottish/Celtic music out there. They are also great people. Pipes & Drums are my favorite - recently saw Andre Reui perform Highland Cathedral in Boston - incredible.

All and All I am still glad to me around! thumbs_up.gif

Just hoping when the vaccine is available for everyone and we can start to see people again. Seems like it is getting worse now they are recommending buying groceries online and not going to the supermarket as it is risky.

Has anyone tried the reforged version of WarCraft III? Finally had a little time to check it our after purchasing almost a year ago. Seems like they have worked out the bugs. Working my way through the original campaign.

Had a little problem with trying to get the game to run on the right monitor, but within the options there is a monitor selection. That must be new as most people did not have 2 monitors when the original of this game came out.

QUOTE (Aaediwen @ 25-Jun-2016, 07:31 AM)
As I recall, it was about 2003 when I first found CRN. Since I had my breakdown, the place I worked closed in 2012. So I went back to school to get a BS degree in Network Security & Electronics. I officially connected with and then married a lady I met on CRN, and I got several industry certs. These including Linux+, Net+, A+, and LPIC-1. I am also now working as a network admin and software developer at a small company here in Lexington, right along side the guy that got me started with Linux. Embedded work there has gotten be back to doing unique LFS builds and I am currently working to see how small of a system I can get to run. Right now, I'm at just shy of 120MB with about 8MB of RAM used while running an SSHD.

Congrats! Sounds like you have accomplished a lot! Degrees, certification and a wife! It's good to hear you are doing so well.

And it's good to hear you are using your Linux knowledge in your occupation.

Hope your family is well too!

Wonderful you have come back Aaediwen! I am glad that we are still around for you to come back to.

How long has it been since you first discovered CR? Time certainly goes by fast. We are fortunate that you taught us so many Linux tricks which we have used many times in administering the CR servers.

Welcome back! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

There seems to be a lot of dire financial warnings about this and already we have seen the stock market sink. I don't claim to be an expert on the topic, but I kept hearing about Corporations were not going to be making as much money now.

And when you have the President of the U.S. weighing in trying to get people to vote against it, you wonder if there is more to the story then meets the eye. And why should a sitting president of any country try to influence another countries vote?

Preserving ones countries culture is and important and noble cause. I love all of the countries of Europe and enjoy each ones unique culture and history. Creating one block and watering down the diversity to me seems like a step backwards.

I have read many articles on the EU and there is open arguments (not my own) about Germany losing the war but basically gaining control of all of Europe through this Union. There are also complaints of the Northern EU countries shouldering the biggest of financial share of the finances.

One of the reasons for the EU was to prevent WWIII. There were two major wars fought on their soil and some believe the EU would prevent a third.

Perhaps the peoples of Great Britain thought they were going to lose their identify.

And you are very right that Scotland could try for an independence vote again. But if you look at Ireland and see how poor that country is now and how most people immigrate to the U.S. - Scotland might want to rethink that decision.

A tremendous opportunity exists for the U.K. now, unite the countries of the Isle and forge strong political, social and financial agreements - put their past behind them - and that could make them a greater influence on World events and a major player in every corner of the world.

Fracture the Isles more and the culture of their peoples will eventually fade away...
