We have again received a new CD from a very well known artist and musician that hails from Nova Scotia. Mary Jane Lamond has sent us her new CD "stòras"!

This beautiful CD of Gaelic Songs showcases Mary's wonderful voice and is sure to become a Celtic music favorite. We also admire Mary's dedication to promoting Gaelic culture through her songs and creativeness:

From Mary:

"I am please to send you my new CD, stòras. With this cd, I have continued to seek out songs from the vast repertoire of Gaelic song in Nova Scotia. Much of the rhythm or work and life of the Gaels who brought their culture from Scotland to Nova Scotia is chronicled by these songs. Songs formed a part of the very attitudes, history, loves and laughter of these people. Some are still sung in present day and others I have found in archival sources. I am particularly pleased and proud to be able to include several beautiful songs that I learned from traditional singers in Cape Breton with whom I have become friends. They have been great supporters and continue to be very generous with their time and their songs."
