How odd. I picked up The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe the other day when I was at Wally World (a.k.a. Wal-Mart). The cover caught my attention.

Shame on you WizardofOwls, not watching the other two films. tongue.gif

I'm responsible for getting my Mother hooked on LOTR. At first she wasn't thrilled with the prospect of watching Fellowship, by the end she was on the edge of her seat. Now you never know when she'll have the movies on. I've come in plenty of times to find her engrossed.

Of course the same could be said of me and my Battle for Middle-Earth game. whistling.gif

I wished I could go to the Gathering that would be awesome. I missed Dragon*Con in Atlanta the last two years. sad.gif

A welcome to your gallesjrrt here at CR....as you've already found out...our mb are friendly and many of us share similar interests! (plus we have folks of all ages!!) So...fun to have you here especially coming from the CAD boards!

Funny, just this past weekend my children and I watched all 3 LOTR's and had a wonderful time...had not watched them for a while and it was nice to do it again. We had several interruptions but made it through. This weekend they want to watch the HPotter series but with goings on of Halloween we may not make it...

So any way...it is wonderful to have you here...make sure you chime in on our book section...great place to talk books!

Hey! Maybe we should start a thread on Tolkien & Lewis! wink.gif

Wiz, you HAVE to watch the others - they keep getting better and better! My youngest sister (11 years younger than me) and I went to see Fellowship - she'd never read the books. Her first comment after the movie was over was "Gee, I wouldn't mind being locked in a room with that Aragorn, would you?" The second was "can I borrow the books?" YES!

myaleigh, I have a friend who is in her 30s who is a big Karl Urban (Eomer) fan - she insisted that her mother watch the first movie with her - much to the mother's dismay. Now, whenever she visits her mother, odds are that one of the movies is on! rolleyes.gif biggrin.gif

Thanks ArizonaAmy! I will definitely check out the book section (when I can sneak more time from work! I've finally gotten a "new" used computer, just have to get it set up at home!).

Yup exact same way with my Mom. So sad. laugh.gif

I think my friend made the same comment about Aragorn (and Legolas) when I made her watch the films. biggrin.gif

Good luck with setting up the "new" computer!

I also have been a JRRT fan for a long time, but must shamefully confess I have only seen the first movie, despite the fact that I have all three on tape! (Wiz blushes)!

you're kidding, right?
MAN -- have you got a ripping experience ahead of you! (The last man in America, probably.) I kind of envy you, in a nice way. How I'd like to be sitting down to that third film again for the first time. smile.gif

Me, too! I'm planning on going to The Gathering of the Fellowship in Toronto next July, just so that I can see the extended versions of all three films, back-to-back, in the theater. (Well, that's not the ONLY reason, but it's the MAJOR reason).
