I have been having a hell of a time trying to figure out how to pronounce 3 simple little words in Scottish Gaelic. I was hoping there may be someone out there that can help me sort through the many different conflicting rules for pronunciation that have me completely stumped. I would really appreciate the help.

I would like to learn how to say:

Laoch

Treun

Saoidh

Thank you very much in advance

Ron

The best pronunciation guide you can get is this one. They also have MP3 files here. And an overview of the IPA Symbols you need for Gaelic.

So, I hope with that you can read this:

On the inverted m: it's a vowel, pronounced in the same place as an u, but with unrounded lips. Say u (ooh in English Orthography) and grin.

The L is very dark, the t is pronounced against the teeth. x is the final sound in loch. I don't know how to explain the e in English right now, but I' sure the sound exists in Scottish English.
