well to start with I need shoes for my jeans ,like everyday ones ,then for my longer legs look I need something with a heel, boots for winter and when I'm riding the motorcycle, then there's dresses we need shoes that go with the outfit we a wearing and so many colors to pick from.I need work shoes that I didn't care if they get ruined as I have to buy 3 pair a year. So I went and counted how many pairs of shoes I have right now all in all I have 17. biggrin.gif

Well, Dogshirt if you must know my hubby refers to me as Imelda Marcos when he happens in my wardrobe...talk about a nosy husband. hitler.gif
We women like shoes because of you men, you see I think you wouldn't appreciate your love in a nice pink dress with a matching handbag and wearing let's say "running shoes". NOOOOO! That certainly wouldn't do at all, so that's why WE need shoes to match what we wear.

That is call fashion. And today unlike that in the past, women wear a variety of clothes. It's not like the time when women would wear long dress long enough to wipe the ground, that way they were able to hide their shoes under the dress so nobody would see, but not anymore I'm afraid.

I own one pair of boots for work, and two pairs of moccasins, one is beaded for dancing, and one pair for every day. That is the TOTAL of my shoes. I just do not see the need for more, must be a guy thing. tongue.gif

As for your question, I can only speak for myself, but I have been with my wife for almost 33 years. I suppose my of us are married, and I think many older men that aren't, are unsure of the dating scene and where to meet a woman worth meeting.
I have met a number of fine women at the little bar & grill I stop at after work (not looking, just meet them and become friends) but in the bar scene they are few and far between. This is just my take on it, others may have more insight.

I raised my children from ages 5 and 6 by myself as I wasn't able to find anyone who would treat them as their own. Now, I am an opinionated old fart with poor health and I wouldn't hang that Albatross on anyone. I probably have three times as many female friends as male friends, mostly because my male friends are dropping dead.

It is probably harder for men to "break the ice" as they get older. Particularly so if they have been single for a while.

This is an interesting thread,

Dogshirt had a question for us ladies and I have one for the gentlemen.

What is the problem with men and their pants????

No offense but how in the grace of God a man can wear jeans or pants and has he bends down well...you guess my meaning construction.gif is it just a macho thing or it's just that the pants don't fit. I don't get it.

I am not in the habit of checking it out but I suspect you will find that in most instances the guy's waist is considerably bigger than his butt! They do make shirts with long tails. I joke about it but there is a grain of truth when I say that the only time my butt looks good is when I bend over and stretch the wrinkles out of it. Getting old is rough and that was more than anyone wanted to know I am sure!

Most guys don't have hips to hold them up, coupled with the fact that most guys buy pants for comfort. I spend most of the day bent over nailing walls and siding, and I can't wear pants that are cutting me in half. But I DO wear a belt to keep them up!!! tongue.gif

When it comes to shoes with me, it's all about comfort, if your feet hurt, your day is ruined, I love my Merrills, All my my shoes are my blue jeans shoes, because, basically thats all I wear, t-shirts and bluejeans, I dont have to get dressed up for work as my husband and I have our own upholstery shop business, and I HATE dresses.
And I agree with Patch, most mens waists are bigger than their butts, my huusband is shaped like Homer Simpson now,

Well I'm relieved to know that you hold your pants with a belt because that is the most disgraceful site one can look at when a man bends down or even squatdowns...it's really a jawdrop.gif view.

Another interesting site observed lately, here at least I don't know in the States but here it's like the ''in'' fashion thing.
Men shaving their hole body... sad.gif no hair nowhere????

What's this??? Men are SUPPOSED to have hair on their chest, arms and legs.
That's what make them viril and handsome...

What's with you men, it's the world upside down, men wants to look like women no hair anymore, and women wants to look like men, no hips with muscle arms.

I hope you don't mind my 2 pence about finding a man Harlot, but maybe you should consider a name change?
