Hi everyone! There seem to be a lot of pagan members on this board, so I thought it would be nice to have a place for us to talk about all things spiritual!

All faiths welcome!

I'm not pagan but I like it when ppls eyes are opened towards things they are ignorant towards.
I have to say that I don't know many things concerning paganism/wicca or what ever there may be about alternative religions. But since I am not a religious person (as in: not liking to be confined by religion, I do believe in some things wink.gif ) I won't have mucht to give concerning religious things, only my interest and observation wink.gif

I do believe that there is more in the skies and on/under our earth than most believe. And I try to be open. Although 13 years of Catholic school makes that very hard some times... =/

This could be an interesting forum. I'm neither Christian nor pagan but I have been declared Heathen from time to time. Shadows knows my beliefs and though I haven't posted it, I think Aon and perhaps some others have strong suspicions.

My leanings are essentially Native American, my mentors Wallace Black Elk (Lakota) and Rob Talltree (Ojibwe). Does that fit here?

I should probably add that I'm rather a traditionalist, not "new age" NDN-ism". S

I think in the general public it would go as Paganism, although today most people that call themselves pagan probably mean something related to the pre-christian european beliefs.
It's a broad field tho..

I would like to see that the old ways don't die, the traditional ways of the people like Native Americans or other pagan beliefs.
It's interesting that some things of the ancient celtic (and also other faiths) survived in the christian religion but all this concquering of religion did erase alot and changed alot in ppls heads.. for me that means that the old times are gone and can't be brought back, may it be in New Age or another revival. Personally I have to say I don't think too much of that but who am I to tell people what to believe in? *grins* so I'm not trying that, it is as simple as that. I can only state the things I lelieve in. And I don't believe in them because I want to but because I came to believe in them in a long process (although it is probably considered short for others, 13 years of my life so to say.. and I'm only 20).

Beliefs and practices were changing a long time before Christianity entered the fold. All forms of thought evolve by influences whether they come from within or from other sources. All that we have to do is to look at ourselves! Within our short time here on earth, our beliefs, our fears, our desires and just about everything else about us has changed numerous times and will change many times again before we die. It's not that our ways have died but rather changed with us. Christianity certainly did contribute to changes to numerous cultures and traditions but these same cultures and traditions also had a hand in the changes brought to Christianity.

you are certainly right there =) I merely brought that up as example actually, I should remember to write such things into my posts... =)

But I have to say I can only talk of a European and Christian context tho when it comes to my personal thinking because that is how I was raised and what I know from my background education. I'm constantly trying to educate myself further, but it's a lot of work, even more nowadays since there is so many more mediums to count in... and still it all stays theoretical wisdom.. *sigh*
