20 years is a long time for a show to be running, but Michael Flatley, against all odds, is coming back for one more time. Billed as his farewell tour he plans to retire afterwards stating that his body is wrecked after years of his lighting fast dance steps and thousands of shows.
He holds the world Guinness book of records for 35 taps per second.
The U.S. tour is underway. 4 weeks from February 19th through March 17th. He will be in Boston tomorrow night at the Wang Center.
While he will not be dancing in the show as a regular performer, he will make a special guest appearance at the end of each show.
Be sure to catch this amazing dancer and his incredible show one last time!
Well... Saw the show. Absolutely awful. Canned music over a blaring sound system. That's right. Got to pay $46 to watch people lip sync and tap dance to a cd. Looked like a Jr. High School production. Even the fiddlers appeared to be dubbed.
Well they did make it known that Michael Flatly wouldn't be there so I wasn't expecting it but I was expecting live music. Even the tap tap tap of the dancers was dubbed. I was expecting so much better and thought I might be moved to tears... Oh well...
On a positive note I did buy the Riverdance "Live from Beijing" BRD and was not the least disappointed. Highly recommend it. A lot cheaper too.
