Celtic Radio Community > Introductions > Hello And Happy New Year From West Virginia!

[FONT=Arial][COLOR=DarkViolet]Hi all! I'm Ame!

I live in the Southern area of West virginia, or on Live Journal, take your pick. I recently found this station and I love it! It's very fun and has a great selection of music.

I'm kinda weird, and kinda bawdy. In my spare time I read and write fan fiction in several fandoms, including Highlander. wink.gif

My two best friends live near London but I don't hold them being English against them! LOL I also role play as a psychopath. Hey, it's a hobby.

Anything else you want to know, just ask. I'll probably tell you even if you don't really want to know!

Happy to be listening to some great music!

Hugs!
Ame

Hello Ame! Fàilte gu Celtic Radio! Welcome to Celtic Radio!

In my humble opinion, you have found one of the best websites ever. The people here are some of the nicest to be found anywhere on the net, and the music is simply out of this world.

So kick off your shoes, grab a mug of your favorite hot (or cold) beverage, turn up the music and have fun! I look forward to getting to know you better through your posts.

If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to ask anyone with the word "Guide" beneath their avatar. That's why we're here!

Again, it is so nice to have you with us. We are like one big family here, and we just love welcoming new members to the fold! I hope that you will enjoy your stay with us, and that you will come back and visit with us often. I feel quite certain that you will grow to love the place as much as I have.

Welcome to the family, my friend!
And welcome home! smile.gif

Thanks so much! I'm really enjoying the music.

Actually, I was researching information for a Highlander story when I found this place. You know, There can be only One?.

Why, yes, I am a big geek. biggrin.gif

Nice to meet ya!

Hee! Yeah, I'm kinda weird, and kinda strange. I like being up front about that to people so I don't scare them later. goof.gif

Oh, and yes I have red hair. Auburn really. Funny enough it come's from my Dad's side of the family who are Swedish/Norwegian, instead of my Mum who is Irish/French.

Nice to meet ya! biggrin.gif

Ooo! Another fan-fic-er! Ok, so I haven't done any of my own fics in years. I still read 'em like there's no tomorrow. My grandmother had bodice-ripper romances, I've got my fics. LOL Welcome! I'm just a smidge north of ya...had relations in Weston once upon a time.

Hi there!

Yeah, I'm pretty much a fanfic whore! laugh.gif OOh! What did you write? I read in several fandoms and I've got like ten or twelve projects going on right now. I forget.

I'm actually about three hours south of Weston. Down near Fayette County. I swear, it feels like I live in the boonies and then I think of people who think Mullens in Wyoming County is a big city and I feel better! Nice to meet you! smile.gif

Well lessee...what all have I dipped my toes into over the years...

Mercedes Lackey and all the character types therein...

Dave Duncan and the King's Blades...

...yeah, I've done Harry Potter...shh...

I've been accused of doing some Star Wars and Star Trek...

I played in Pern for a long, long time till...I started a small war and was invited to play elsewhere...::cough::

I've done some collaborations involving Robotech, Evangelion, Bubblegum Crisis, Fushuugi Yuugi....though I have to say those by and large turned into rather bad train wrecks...

I've done various and sundry things in various and sundry gaming worlds, including AD&D (Ravenloft, Forgotten Realms, Al-Quadim), White Wolf (Vampire and Werewolf), and the way I play free-form role-playing, it's essentially fic'ing.

This also got me deeply and irretrievably into the wonderful world of filk too. I don't want to say that I went to "serious" writing from there, because for a lot of writers fics are as serious as a hemophiliac in a razorblade factory. Rather fics are how I keep myself going when I run into a brick wall with other stories that I'm working on. It's fun stuff rather than...work. lol.gif

Ooh!! Pern! Very cool! Sorry there was problems!

I mainly live in Spanderland, or in the Buffyverse. Right now I have two three Buffyverse only fics going on, a Buffyverse/DC Comics, Buffyverse/Sentinel, and a Buffyverse/Highlander. I'm kind of addicted to Xander. LOL I've also played in Marvel fandom and I play Harley Quinn in an RPG. Sounds like you're just as varied as I am!

My friend and I like to write silly!fic together. Just to egg each other on. We've actually written something called Tallywackers and have been proud of it. Go figure! HEE!

Huggles!
Ame

Yeah, never do something silly like announce that Anne McCaffrey just might be guilty of ganking plot bunnies. Can't imagine why that started a war...::looks around innocently::

Man, now I wanna start writing again. My husband pokes fun because my girlfriend and I read HPfic. I read them, I enjoy most of them, but I'll admit something right here and now:

I don't subscribe to any "ships" in there. Whoever lands in bed with whomever else is fair game. That would get me shot and fed to the beta-readers right there...LOL rolleyes.gif

I keep threatening to do something with a few other series, but never get around to it. Hell, the last several months it's a wonder I even make it online! But once I get my laptop this spring and my writing lair back, I'll probably be doing a lot more.

OOOH, look, Dundee, she IS a redhead! laugh.gif

I'd say you had plenty of probability for the color, whether it's nordic or celtic. There's not anywhere on the North Sea that didn't have a bad case of Vikings at some point, bless 'em, and the northern french coast had as much genetic assistance as Ireland for the red hair.

Welcome, Ame!

..hey, wait. What if someone had assistance from the Clairol faerie?

*I* didn't...my mother however...

I look forward to seeing with what you come up with!! And I'm with you. I view fan fiction like a buffet. You can change, mix up something new with an old favorite, or you can stick with what you love. Just don't mess with what other people like. Although I do get kind of mad when someone leaves a fandom just because they want to read in another. I read about ten different fandoms and have played around in most of them. I have my favorite, of course, but finding a new favorite shouldn't make me leave the other.

Then again it could be that I despair at loosing great Spander writers over to your HP. tongue.gif Hee!

Yep! Dad's ancient family really got around! LOL Although that still doesn't explain my love of all things pizza, unless some of the longboats really got adventuresome! Hee!

Thanks for the welcome! smile.gif

Great, now I've got the urge to write again. I've got a backlog to clear first...dammit! LOL

I got bored last night (read: I was stuck in the chair and needed something to read), and wandered over to Sycophant Hex again. I've been away long enough that there's enough content to keep me busy again...whee!

I hate to say it, but fanfiction.net's driving me batty.... dry.gif

The so-called clairol faerie is really a cross-dressing Viking named Trikessi Truegelsdottir. Exactly what the red component in the formula is, Trikessi doesn't tell, but I think it's naturally derived and requires several nights of heavy drinking.

FF.net is a pit of voles. When you run out of stuff, drop by my live journal and tell me what kind of HP you're looking for and I'll find you something there. I'm not into HP but some of my friends are and I know where to look. Nowadays most people are publishing on lj, it's very popular. http://www.livejournal.com/users/amejisuto/

Of course my journal is just as scary and weird as I am! jester.gif

Isn't he from the Midrealm? That sounds suspiciously like the third night of Aethelmearc War practice. Hell, he would've blended right in.

Actual conversation:

"Siobhan! (that's me) Are you going into town?"

"...no, why?"

"I need a bottle of Everclear, those non-toxic glow-sticks, and some dry ice!"

"....yeah, we're going to regret this, but why?

"So I can make my pee glow in the dark!"

Otherwise known as Swamp Juice or, more commonly, Heredrinkthis. If you tell me that you later collect this and put it on your head...I wouldn't doubt it for a minute. tongue.gif
