I know there are a number of sites around where you can keep an online record of your book collection - basically an online database that you can record which books you have.

Does anyone know of one for music collections?

Hello again!

I'm not really sure if this fits with what you want - it does keep a very good record of what you have, but by uploading your collection onto the online server/database. It keeps playlists as well as albums and artists, but like I say, you need to have the music digitized so it can be uploaded.

Here's their URL: http://shop.mp3tunes.com After I upload my music I'm able to listen to it from any computer I logon to - even at work. You can also upload up to 20GB for free - past that, there's an annual fee, but not that bad.

I'll keep my eyes open to see if I can find anything that allows uploading names of your albums/songs.

Best cheers! Robbie

Hi again Robbie biggrin.gif

Thanks for the link - I'm afraid it's not really what I'm looking for (my computer couldn't deal with music!), it is really just a database that I can upload names and artists of albums etc ... thank you for taking the time to look though biggrin.gif

Hmmm, you've sparked my interest. This type of database would be simple enough that it could be implement right here on this site. Perhaps hooking up to the CDDB database so it can lookup your albums and then you select the albums you have with all tag names.

Well, don't look for anything like this soon on here, but I might tackle this in 2008 maybe! smile.gif

Good evening, Lynda, (perhaps I should say "good morning"?)

Well, I tried to find something good, and I think I did - however, after using the trial online database application, I just found out that the annual fees would be nearly $700!!! Nope, not what you're looking for!

You will probably be getting an e-mail from the automated system, since I also set you up as an administrator - just using your first name - however, it's real nice, but at a cost of over $50 per month, you could pay someone to manage your album and song titles! tongue.gif

We'll keep looking... smile.gif
