It was great to see the root of my last name (Darach) on the list. My surname is Darrough, it means man of oak.

Am I eligible for the contest now? :)

One of my westies is Dougal but the other is Magic (he had his name when we got him). My twin grandsons are Colin and Gavin and one of my granddaughters is Heather. Except for the dog, we didn't really plan to give them Gaelic names, they were just names my kids liked.

Oh, good Lord. I haven't been in here for FAR too long. Thank you SO MUCH Catriona. Angela wants to stick with Scots names, and so far, she's got Scotia or Scotland for a girl's name. unsure.gif Hopefully this will help her out a bit, because I think she's got some duds there. Scotia's actually a nice name for a girl, but I think the meaning will be lost on a child growing up in Nova Scotia. tongue.gif

Oh, we have decided Coira is one we like. I told her the other day, if we want two boys and two girls, then we'll just keep on having kids until we get at least two of each. laugh.gif

She didn't like that idea though. angel_not.gif

Yes, Scotia. It's pretty bad when you're looking for Gaelic names and pick a Latin one. wink.gif Anyway, Coira it is, as I'm sure many of you now know.
