Some corrections for the list:

an t-seachdain seo chaith - modern spelling with a "-"

aig an taigh at the house

Tha faclair ùr agam - without mi, since agam = aig + mi. This takes some getting used to in the beginning

Am miosa seo chaidh

O chionn fhada / A-nis

More time expressions

Nise, dè an d' rinn thu an-dè?
Now, what did you do yesterday?

Bha mise ag obair
I was working (mise is the emphatic form of mi)

'S mise Lori.

Tha mi a' fuireach ann an Oklahoma.

Can I still join the class even though you've been going quite a while already? I'm trying to learn on my own and not doing very good at staying with it. I promise to read the entire thread and make notes if you all will let me join in...please? biggrin.gif

Chan eil mi as a Tulsa. Tha mi as a Wichita, KS, ach tha mi a' fuireach ann an Tulsa a-nis. Thàr mi as a Dallas an-uiridh.

There's a Lori in my Gàidhlig class (Wednesdays at 7:00 to 9:00) who lives in Muskogee, who is short (goirid), and red hair (fàlt ruadh). Her hair is almost apple red (dearg). I didn't know if you were one and the same.

If you're not that Lori, then feel free to contact me about the Gàidhlig class via my email if you'd like. I think it is accessible through my member profile.

I'm not that Lori, then, sorry. I think I know which Gàidhlig class you are talking about. Is it the same one associated with the crew that puts on the Annual Gàidhlig Weekend in Tulsa?

I am happy to report, though, that I had the translation correct for the most part.

One and the same. Although I've only been with the group since December, so I wasn't a part of the Immersion last year. Hopefully we can get it organized again for this year.

Nach ann fòrtanach a tha sibh! Chan eil Gàidhlig sam bith ann far a bheil mi a' fuireach.

Aren't you lucky! There's no Gaelic at all where I live.

Here is the link to our Immersion Weekend here in Tulsa. They haven't updated it since our last one, which was in October of 2007. They are really nice folks and it would be great to have you join us, should you find yourself in Tulsa at the right time!

My biggest regret is that I cannot attend the weekly Gaidhlig classes, as they are on Wednesday nights and I am committed elsewhere on that evening. sad.gif
