What's this? Do my eyes play tricks? Is there an imposter afoot? The UlsterScotNutt has returned from the wild and wooleys. I know he's been in King Arthurs' Court. Welcome back you old?????? whatever. Good to hear from you.
I'll be over shortly to beat you with a stick, after I take a nap in our shop recliner, which, Ulsterscott so genously gave my hubbie after his surgery so he could nappie at work when need be, well, I guess I shouldnt beat you with a stick then....
All due considerations are accepted and appreciated!!!!

Before you get to Sligo, you need to make a few stops. Take the N-17 to Claremorris and go to the middle of town and look for Higgins & Co. It can be found on the east side of the street. It's a store carrying all sorts of better quality Irish goods, plus, they are the manufactures of the Celtic Design Collection of Irish rugs. http://www.celticdesigncollection.com/
Wendy, I forgot I had these pictures of the rugs we bought at Higgins and Co. We bought five rugs that day and these are two of them. Sibylle packed them up for us and shipped them back to the States.

We are waiting for the county engineer to sign off on the foundation plans. Because of the altitude and wind on the mountain, the county requires the engineer to look over the foundation plans and make sure they are built strong enough to handle the 125 MPH winter winds. There will be a lot of re-bar inserted in the concrete blocks. The foundation guys are ready to go. Hopefully, groundbreaking will be in the next week or so. We need the house closed in before the first week of December or the wind will just rip it apart during the winter.
Finding DP-50 windows has also been a tough thing. Not many window companies make hurricane rated windows and North Carolina now requires it on all homes that are over 3000 feet elevation.
As for the rugs, we have 7 Celtic Collection rugs that will be used in the house. We may acquire a few more somewhere along the way.
Wow, now that sounds like some winds ablowin!! Where is it exactly, I'm going to google earth the site!! So figure we can book a room for springtime??!!??
If I put my pointer exactly where the house will be, according to Google Earth, the coordinates are 36.241715, - 81.305455. When you punch those numbers up on the search of GE, it takes you to another property about 12 miles away.
If you would like to know exactly where it is, PM me with your e-mail and I can send you an e-mail that contains the actual shot of Google Earth that I'm looking at. I know that works, because I've sent that out to others.
Once construction starts, we will be adding more pictures to the Highlander House Gallery, so check with that and watch the progress.
I found another picture of a third rug we bought that day.
By the way, the hands that are displaying all the rugs, are not professional models hired by Higgins and Co. They belong to Annabelle and Irish Stepper.
Wendy, I came across a web page that has a list of 10, not to miss, megaliths in Ireland. If you did just a vacation dealing with seeing these, that alone, would be a fun vacation. http://goireland.about.com/od/specialinter...istoric_top.htm
