since entering this I've found 3 possibilities if anyone is skilled in this and tell me if any of these are right.
1. Gheidh gach duine bas, cha bhi duine beo gu-dearbh
2. Basaichidh gach duine, cha bhi ah-uile duine beo da-rireabh (riribh or rireadh also a possibility for the last word)
3. Faigheann gach fear bas, ach ni ghlacann gach fear leis an tsaol
any input would be helpful
thanks

I've been looking through the forums and can't find anything on this, but I'm getting ready to get a new tattoo and I'm getting the William Wallace sword with the phrase, Every Man Dies, Not Every Man Really Lives, in Gaelic. I have looked all through the internet as much as i can and can not find a true translation. If anyone can help translate it into gaelic or point me to a place in the forums this has already been done it'd be most appreciated.
thanks |

I was wondering if anybody from here actually went to the Virginia Highlands Festival, Celtic weekend?
It was possibly the best one yet! Enter the Haggis played a 2 hour show that friday night and they have quickly become one of my favorites.
Saturday and sunday Rathkeltair, Coyote Run, and Tinsmith all played several shows and all absolutely performed amazing!!! |

I just found out today that on top of the usual great weekend at the Virginia Highlands Festival Celtic weekend on saturday and sunday, this year they are also having a friday night concert starting out with Uncle Hamish and the Hooligans and closing the night is going to be Enter the Haggis!!!! I've wanted to see them live for forever and now is my chance!! For any of you in and around the Southwest Virginia area you need to come out that weekend for great music. those two bands friday night and then saturday and sunday there will be Coyote Run ( a personal fav), Rathkeltair (another personal fav), and a new band I've not heard of yet but sure they will be great called Tinsmith. I'm certain there will be another 2 or 3 bands added to the event but that lineup alone to me personally seems great!!!
The festival is the last weekend in july, i'm thinking the 30th, 31st and 1st.
hope to see some of you there. Let me know if anyone is going to show up I'd love to be able to meet some of my friends from Celtic Radio.
later on in the year the Sycamore shoals Celtic Festival is coming up in September and would love to know if anyone is going to be there as well. it's being held at Elizabethton, TN september 10th,11th and 12th |

I have learned that hand sanitizer makes for fun at work when ur bored and have a desk and a bottle of it and a lighter I do remember one time last year it was rather cold in this old renivated hotel that the company I work for operates out of, and the thermostat was not working that night so it had gotten into about the 30's or 40's if not lower up here on a call floor. Not a pleasant feeling, although i'm sure working outside in colder temps are far worse. Anywayz I got bored and poured some out onto the desk and lit it and i'll be darned if the stuff didn't burn for quite a while with no smoke whatsoever. So this guy here decides he's gonna warm his hands by the fire. Made for a fun and warming night after all hehe
Warning Kids do not try this at home. I am an adult but just not a grown up but do not follow my steps haha |

I've had xm radio in my new truck now for about a month and can't find any celtic music on there and that's a bit depressing. Are there any channels on there that anyone else has found that plays celtic, whether it be traditional, celtic rock, or whatever? if not how difficult would it be to get one put on there? has anyone tried requesting any channels to XM at all? |

maybe so, maybe my whole clan will be able to be atop the leaderboard instead of one or two of your "loyal followers" |

I did not get a cd yet, kinda spent a lot on some other things, some heraldry things and some awesome shirts but will look to get a cd from them later.
They are supposed to be in Dandrige Tn near the end of this month or next month, and we have a camper on douglas lake down there with her parents and so it'd be very easy to head down and watch them again. |

Loved Uncle Hamish, they were very very good, did great traditional songs, and original songs, but also covered a lot of stuff and put their spin on it. They finished off all 3 sets I had seen them do with that song that Jack Black and those kids sing on School of Rock, it's a long way to the top if you wanna rock and roll or something like that.
They had great crowd sense too and joked the whole way through.
They rocked so hard during the Ceilidh that they threw the circut breaker and killed all the power in the small ampitheatre where everybody was gathered lol. quite weird sitting in a lot of darkness in the woods at 11p.m while waiting on the band to start back up.. haha
was anyone else at this festival by any chance? |

Sycamore Shoals Celt Fest in Elizabethton was great this past weekend. spent both days there listening to great music and getting to see basically all clans represented, it was great to just to get to go up and learn some of the history from that family.
The bands there were great, Thistledown Tinkers and Stirling Bridge were killer, definitely enjoyed hearing Mickle-A-Do for the first time, and Uncle Hamish and the Hooligans were incredible
also tried my first taste of haggis finally!!!! Had never tasted anything like it ever, but the vendor selling it had just placed 5th in the annual haggis tasting in Scotland so I knew it had to be some pretty good stuff. The texture was the hardest thing to get over, but I actually liked it a whole lot. I had the Highland Beef haggis, couldn't force myself to do the lamb lol The wife tried as well but didn't favor as good as i did, she had to chug down a dr. enuf real quick lol.
