Substitutions, Alcohol For Cooking Red wine (Lambrusco or semisweet wine): Carbonated cranberry drink, Sundance brand. Dry red wine: Use 1/2 cup (4 oz) carbonated cranberry drink plus 1 Tbsp lemon juice. Dry white wine: Welch's white grape juice plus 1 Tbsp white vinegar. Sweet white wine: Welch's white grape juice plus 1 Tbsp Karo corn syrup. Amaretto: 1 Tbsp light Karo plus 1 Tbsp almond extract plus 1/4 cup clear apple juice. Brandy: 1/4 cup apple juice plus 1 Tbsp brandy extract or flavoring. Rum: 1/4 cup apple juice plus 1 Tbsp rum extract. |

thanks Shadows for the alcohol subsitutions. The only wine I buy is a red wine which is supposed to be healthy for a person to drink, in moderation of course! I think I have on hand all the other ingredients except the carbonated cranberry drink. Slainte, maggiemahone1 |
