Like a charm.. for one thing.. I live a five iron off a very busy four lane.. This cat was wandering the neighborhood, sleeping on my back porch funiture, leaving it covered in hair..Im allergic to cats.. I like them , but they make me very ill..along with stalking my bird feeders.. and getting a few Gold Finches.. To add insult to injury , it was using my herb garden as a toilet.. ugh the SMELL ..
Sooo, I really did'nt want to trap it , and let Animal Control take it .. the owner did'nt seem to care where it was most of the time.. it would have been put down before they found it at the pound,, I just could NOT live with that ...
So I shot it in the butt , from a good distance,( I KNOW paint balls sting...) twice I think the cat and the owner got the message..
The paintball gun is an elegant solution. I have used a slingshot to deter cats. When I was about 15, I used a muskrat trap. My mother was NOT amused about having to release a cat from the trap in the front yard (lots of flopping around and screeching). Needless to say, the cat avoided our yard after that. I was a wild child from the mountains at that time. I have become SLIGHTLY more civilized since then.

The accuracey of those is a joy ! and I know I did'nt hurt it.......... because it stayed on the fence long enough for me to get another shot off
If I lived further out, I could perhaps see, letting a cat wander... but .. I am right in the city ... As annoying as that cat was.. I did'nt want it to become road pizza because its owner did'nt know any better !

Rose, did you have cats, or did they have you? It's been said that you never own a cat, they just choose to stay with you.

Normal is a relative term. For some reason it is not a term my relatives use to describe me.
Everybody is missing the point . Shoot the pet owner, not the pet
Also once I put up an electric, invisible fence and gave the electronic shock collars to all the owners of the pets in the neighboor. My dog already knew to stay in the yard. I taught the other pets to stay out also. I was the town hero for giving away so many collars. Too bad I couldn't get the owners to put one on also>

If Jimmy cracked corn and no one cares, Why is there a song about it?
Hmmmm, wiping the sweat from my brow as I consider turning down the AC just a little more. Wonder if he could be talking about me?

Ya might be, rabbit, ya might.
Actually I was picking on Celtic Rose for that little weather bar thingy she had in her signature. While I was grousing about the cold weather she had that thing taunting me with the prospect of dry warmness. Pure evil!
