Some men are drawn to oceans, they cannot breathe unless the air is scented with a salty mist. Others are drawn to land that is flat, and the air is sullen and is leaden as August. My people were drawn to mountains- Earl Hamner Jr.
Oh, there're sober men in plenty, And drunkards barely twenty, There are men of over ninety That have never yet kissed a girl. But gie me a ramblin' rover, And fae Orkney down to Dover. We will roam the country over And together we'll face the world.
Get those drinks over here barddas, this singin' is makin' me thirsty.
Hello kinda_nice2, I agree it is a great radio station.
Aon Daonna, It does get very hot here in Oz but don't wory about heatstroke by the time we've finished doing the pub crawl you'll be so drunk the heat wont bother you.
Welcome and make yourselves at home. Everybody get a drink in hand cause if you don't have one y'all really stand out.
HEY! You in the red shirt. Get somethin' to drink will ya?
Leo, out in the currently sunny and nice Azuero Peninsula which is nowhere close to Scotland although some folks did try and colonize a part of the Darien once but got in an argument with some a them there spanish speaking folks and, well, lost everything.
I'm the Madweasel, and I've brought the homebrewed beer!
A little about me: computer programmer (to make the folks happy), costumer and U.S.C.W. reenactor. I homebrew beer and mead, garden, and play the fiddle. Family is mostly Irish and Scots, I'm told we have some connection with a sept of Clan MacFarlane, but I'm still working on the genealogy. If anyone has a clue about the families Knox or Knowles, do drop me a PM. I'm stumped!
I love Celtic music, and go to contradances and local fiddle events whenever I can. If I were to describe my personality...I'd have to say "outgoing, outspoken, and Out To Lunch". In a good way, though.
Glad to have found this radio station, and your good selves! Looks like a nice little community here. Thanks for welcoming me into it.

The Madweasel
"You can lead a horticulture, but you can't make her think. "
Hey Madweasel, play a few tunes will ya. Kinda like to hear Sleepy Maggie, and the Devils in the Kitchen if you don't mind.
Glad there is another fiddle player around. I am considerably out of practice but need to find someone to rehair my bow. Not an easy task down here where I am. Still, hopeful to get it done and then I plan on learning a little of the local style. Fiddle and accordeon rule here so no problem fitting in.
May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
Hail and well met to all the new members!! I've only been here a few days but I've found it to be filled with a good lot of jolly folk! Have a pint on me!
Good morning, I'm Bob, from Florida, USA. My Gran was Lola Blanch MacDougal. I listen to pipes 'til my neighbors scream . My little tom cat Dinky Dhu prefers the Clarsach. The pipes make him a bit emotional. BUAIDH NO BAS BOB
