'Titanic' Line Tops Cheesy Movie Survey

NEW YORK - Although "Titanic" soared at the box office in 1997, according to a recent survey, its most memorable line ? "I'm the king of the world!" ? sunk.

British baker Warburtons posed the question "What are your top three cheesiest moments in film?" to 2,000 U.K. moviegoers in celebration of the launch of their new cheese-flavored crumpets.

1. "Titanic": Leonardo DiCaprio's "I'm the king of the world!"

2. "Dirty Dancing": Patrick Swayze's "Nobody puts Baby in the corner."

3. "Four Weddings And A Funeral": Andie McDowell's "Is it still raining? I hadn't noticed."

3. "Ghost": Demi Moore's "Ditto," to Patrick Swayze's "I love you."

My fav's here are Braveheart, Top Gun, The Postman and...Ghost!

I can't believe this one was "cheesy!" ... I loved this line! I wonder if that makes me cheesy!

I believe this was on GOod Morning America for those folks in the US...they were having a blast this morning as I was watching them with my 2 hour school delay!

Titanic = sorry its too much of a chick flick for me. my wife couldnt beg me enough to sit and watch a boat sink. although having watched MANY movies that spoofed the king of the world scene, i have to agree its pretty cheesy.

Dirty Dancing = living with a woman who wouldve dumped me in a heartbeat for Patrick Swazie I have seen this movie many times. and thats a pretty bad line when you think about it.

Four Weddings and a Funeral = Nope havent seen this one.

Top Gun = Never watched all of it. Seen the bar scene a hundred times and even recreated the singing part with the other cooks when I worked at hooters.

Notting Hill = While not a big fan of Hugh Grant I was forced to watch this with the wife one night. The guy that played Grant's roomate was great in it though. And i would say that the line in question was sappy, dont know if thats considered the same as cheesy or not.

Independence Day = Nah not cheesy at all. Great movie and the speech was phenominal. could watch the movie many many times. and i would have followed him into battle after that speech.

Braveheart = NO NO NO NO NO. One of the GREATEST speeches of any movie. how on earth can they say thats cheesy. NO NO NO and again I say NOOOOOOOOOOO! thats all i have to say about that.

Jerry Maguire = good movie. and yeah a pretty cheesy line. but the whole speech he made was pretty cheesy.


The Postman = Ive seen most of this movie but never seen all of it so i dont remember this line. not a bad movie but that does sound like a cheesy line.

Seen them all, loved most of those movies, but now that you mention it those lines are REALLY cheesy. I've always known that about Titanic though, I disliked that movie very much. The whole thing was cheesy! ha!

There are MUCH worse ones than those cited. "Fortune and Glory, kid, fortune and glory" from Indiana Jones, for instance.
