As morning light broke through the mist, Teddy reflected upon their first meeting, and how his love for her had grown throughout their time together. She was his whole life, his reason for being. But deep inside, he knew that her feelings toward him were not the same, not as strong. He knew that her dreams were of someone else. Someone older, stronger. He had only to look into her eyes to see that her love lie elsewhere. He had fooled himself into believing that he held the lone key to her heart. He saw her as his great love, his inspiration. He knew not her true feelings for him. His mind became clouded with questions. Would she ever feel for him, love him, as he did her? How he wished she would. A gentle rain began to tap against the glass, prompting a tear. Again, how he wished she would...

Unrequited love...............
........simple touch him as she did when they were younger. He remembered the warm hugs and cuddles she would give him in the cold mornings and the last pecks before the lights would go out, how he longed for those days of knowing her love. They would spend the night in close comfort, he, ever vigilant and she so quietly sleeping. As Teddy thought back and the rain beat a soothing sound against the house, when had she drifted away? Now days would pass and he would sit on the pillow, nary a glance his way. Yes, there were still those days she would look at Teddy, reach for him and close her eyes, Teddy loved those days. A sharp rap drew him back from his tender memories...............
celt, I hope I haven't stepped on any toes with me adding to your story. I couldn't help myself when I saw the ................

Celt, This is a sad poem-story that describe what a lot of broken hearted people feel as well. There is a melancholy in the story but well written at the same time. I just hope that this is not what you are going thru though.
