Good day to ya all. My name is Mya and I'm a newbie. I listen to Highlander Radio via Live365 everyday while I work and thought it was high time I joined the community. Years ago I began studying the Celts and for whatever reason felt at home with all that is Celtic. While searching our family roots my mother discovered her family originated from Wales so perhaps I'm a throw back to my elders.
I do know I'm the oddest in my family as most of my interests stray from convention. I'm a history, mythology and folklore enthusiast who believes in faeries and magical beings. I like to delve into the unknown. I'm in awe of Tolkien and the world he created. And on top of everything I'm a creative geek.
myaleigh - Welcome to CR...it really is a great place to hear a wide variety of celtic music! Our MB are very friendly and I'm sure you'll make fast friends...so when you have time look around and post...we'll be glad to get to know you better! Besides creative geeks are some of the best folks around! Welcome again to CR!!
Hi myaleigh! Fàilte gu Celtic Radio! Welcome to Celtic Radio!
In my humble opinion, you have found one of the best internet sites ever. The people here are some of the nicest to be found anywhere on the net, and the music - as you have already discovered - is out of this world!
So kick off your shoes, grab a mug of your favorite hot (or cold) beverage, turn up the music and have fun! I look forward to getting to know you better through your posts.
If you have any questions or problems, feel free to ask anyone with the word "Guide" beneath their avatar. That's why we're here!
Welcome to the family, my friend!

'S i Alba tìr mo chridhe. 'S i Gàidhlig cànan m' anama. Scotland is the land of my heart. Gaelic is the language of my soul.
Thanks WizardofOwls. Browsing through the forums I notice a different atmosphere than other forums I've participated in. Usually I just lurk but giving what I've seen so far this may be the forum for me.
Myaleigh, welcome to the house of Mac. It is one of the great places on the net and what every place on the net should strive for. The people are interesting and friendly, the music is just wonderful, and the conversation offers many diverse chances.
Lurking is fun here, so is just listening, but posting and getting to know some of us is the most fun you can have with your fingers in public.
Hiya, mya! (sorry, couldn't resist the terrible rhyme - assuming that it DOES rhyme!)
Welcome from another newbie! One of the many things that I've seen that I like in my short time here (since yesterday!) is the Gaelic quotes with the English translations! I do cross stitch, and sometimes put together odd things to make new designs - many of them Celtic. So I'm gathering some of my favorites here to use in future designs!
Seriously, though - there are sections here on books and music, geneaology, religion, politics (which I avoid like the plague!), philosphy ...

Just a wee deoch an dorris "Not all who wander are lost"
I noticed the Gaelic with English translations and love it! I want to learn the language one day. I don't do cross-stich (never had the patience despite multiple lessons from my Mom) but I do design my own tattoos. And since I use my tattoos to display who I am and what I believe many of them are Celtic themed so any words I add I want to be in Gaelic.
I've already wandered around the Special Interests forum, think you were there too... matter of fact I'm going have to stop myself soon I've already spent the morning here instead of working.
I hope you continue to love the great music that Celtic Radio has to offer.. The people here on the forum are like family.. I look forward to your posting..
Welcome myaleigh, It's good to have you here with us. As already been said there are some nice folks here and the music is great. Join in the fun and have a great time!
